We moved here from ks and couldn’t find pizza we really enjoy the last 7 years. Somehow we never came across Taste of NY Pizza until recently when my son came home and said a friends dad brought this pizza in for their 4th class. We tried it and love it! Our 5 year old asked for it when we had family in town for his birthday and my mom who grew up in NY was here. She said she was skeptical and everyone says they have “my pizza” but nowhere has yet to impress her as she said “nowhere has pizza like NY”. She rates her pizza, lol, with real NY pizza getting a 10. She took one bite and just sat there. She goes “wow. Yea, that’s NY pizza” and have it a 9.5 (possibly a 10, I don’t remember). She commented afterwards several times on how good it was.
For 30$ I was expecting a stellar pizza, this was not it. I've had plenty of mediocre pizzas but this was down right nasty. We ordered the T.O.N.Y. and the ingredients taste cheap and foul. We couldn't even finish eating a slice. This is no better than nasty Casey's pizzas.I
Last two times my husband and I went we both ended up sick. Both times the pizza looked very old and burned on the bottom crust. I know the Owners would never allow spoiled burned food to leave their kitchen, we miss the owners working in their restaurant. It was the only pizza place to eat at now, we can’t come back at the risk of our health.

Seek this place out to get a cheese pizza slice was for my toddler and I ended up eating half of it! The crew was was efficient and friendly. Locals are lucky to have a place like this in the area with a quality ny style pizza. I'd frequent more if I lived in the area.
Had a slice of the margherita and lasagna pizza, it was really good but the lasagna was a bit thick on toppings for me. One thing to note that worried me before coming was the pics on Google because all the pizza looked like it had gotten cold sitting out but they actually take what you order and throw it in the oven for a few minutes so it's nice and fresh every time. I will definitely be coming back.
Great pizza and very friendly staff. I'm only giving 4 stars because their dine in area is pretty small and gets very busy.
This is the best pizza hands down in Des Moines. If you Love pizza especially NY pizza this place is for you.
So delicious -- this is my favorite pizza place in the DSM area. (We don't live in the area, but it's worth the drive!) The flavor is strong, the texture is exactly right, and the portions are huge! Service has always been good -- thanks everyone!
The place was clean, the guy at the register was very helpful, and the pizza was awesome. I ended up taking a whole pie home, and my kids loved it! p.s.I heard about you guys from Heather and Wickitt on Lazer.
