Very nice casual and comfortable atmosphere but with an upscale and diverse menu that will please anyone. My wife had the steak with stuffed shrimp while I had the filet with crab cake on top.My wife’s meat & shrimp was a bit tough, but my steak was cooked perfectly and the risotto was excellent. Drinks were great and not over priced. And our waiter was very helpful.We will be back soon!
My fiance and I had a great experience. We got our food fast and our waiter was wonderful! He was fast, attentive and funny. The food was delicious. My fiance had a burger and it was cooked just right. I had pasta and a side salad. Both were delicious. The only complaint we have is how cold the restaurant was. Overall it's a fabulous date night place.
Went out with another couple..this place is intimate, I love it...our appetizers were amazing!!! We got the sampler plate.. then each one of our meals were spot on, delicious!!!!! Steaks all cooked to perfection.... will definitely go back.. Service was superb!!!

Went on a Monday night with reservations, wasn't too busy. Loved this location compared to the other Johnny's around the city. Always love looking at the pictures and art they have on the walls to fit the theme. Atmosphere was good for a date night with slightly dark lighting. Food was also very good. Our waitress did an amazing job handling us that evening.We started off with The Little Italy Combination, recommended the half serving for only two people. It was delicious and good choice if you want a variety appetizer.For our main meals we had the Char-broiled Ribeye with Lobster Mac and Cheese, which I thought tasted flavorful, cooked to my liking. Then also the Classic Spaghetti Marinara, which I was told was pretty good.Then for dessert had the Tiramisu, which is becoming one of my favorite desserts. Very delicious.
Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse has a few locations in the Des Moines metro area. All are typically very good. Food and drinks are good, service is usually good. I have not tried anything here that I did not like.
Great place to eat I had a 22 oz porterhouse steak.
Went here for date night. Thankfully were able to get a reservation on valentine's day weekend. Everything we ordered was spectacular, especially the banana cheesecake! The staff here is amazing as well.
From the host stand, even though they lost our reservation, we were seated immediately, to our server Jenna, everything was absolutely perfect for our Valentine's Day dinner!! Jenna was not only gratuitous but steered us in the right direction of our food selection based on what we both liked!! Thanks Johnny's Italian Steakhouse! We will definitely be back soon!
Went to Johnny's for an early Valentines dinner. My wife had a very over cooked lobster, but she still ate it. My steak however was ordered medium and came to me bloody rare. The server apologized and asked if I wanted to take it back to get fixed. I paid 35 dollars for a steak not to be fixed, but to get it right. I doubt I will come back, if ever. I will try other steakhouses in town. TRH never cooked a bad steak and the price is half. My dogs enjoyed what was left.
