Great atmosphere, great staff, great beer. I've always loved Tip the Cow, but Two Cows was amazing. The Gose was slightly sour and really refreshing. If we lived in Waterloo we'd be here all the time. We had the chips and salsa and the chips were freshly fried and very tasty. This also was not as spicy as we like it but it had good flavor. Our kids had some trouble with the pinball machine but the staff immediately came out and helped out with it. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick visit.
Such a great space! Historic industrial style atmosphere, great in-house brewed beers and interesting menu of excellent food options. Staff is always friendly and service is fast. So happy we have such a place here in the cedar valley!
So… so good! Great fun trying flights if beer and food was very good. Helpful staff in trying beers. The BRUSSELS SPROUTS With peanuts, hoisin, cilantro were simply amazing! Also had BUFFALO CHICKEN CHILI which was wonderful. Wife had the IOWA taco and was impressed. However avoid the biscuits and gravy, clearly they’ve never been down south but you can’t expect much out of a Yankee for biscuits and gravy I guess ??. Shout out to cheyenne for great service ( sorry if I spelled your name wrong). We are taking some beer to go and hope to pass by sometime again. Highly recommend stopping if you are in the area!
I love this place! I love the atmosphere, the concept, the food, and the drinks. The best fish and chips. But...the community tables are not handicap friendly (the benches do not move), there was one person taking orders for 46 people (I was ignored multiple times), the courtesy tip calculation at the bottom of the bill that already included an 18% gratuity, and the handicap parking is a block away from the entrance.
Great space! The food was delicious, our drinks were great and Cheyenne, our server was delightful! What a great find on our way back home from a Spring Break road trip!
Beer!!? It's everywhere! Anymore, in my opinion, a brewery needs more than just beer to get folks through the doors. SSB in downtown Loo does that well. Located in an old Wonder Bread factory that's been renovated just enough to put you in a factory type setting as well as a brewery. Large windows makes the main guest area airy and pleasant. It has a communal feel with the large tables with bench seating. An out door patio area is a great place to enjoy conversations and beer in the warmer months. Their is a somewhat quieter dinning are off the main hall as well as a banquet/meeting room. Theirs a kid play area so they can play with stuff while they look around at their future. SSB also has a decent foodmenu that has a little something for everyone. Ample bike parking both inside and out helps give the place that healthy vibe with bicyclists milling about. All this wonderfulness comes with a price but it's not reflected in their prices to much but I'd still consider it spendy. Oh yeah, they have beer too.... with their versions of the typical craft beer line-up and also many other beer options to please even the most sophisticated palate.SSB also has a smaller version of themselves in Cedar Falls. Both places are right off the bike trail. Enjoy! Be Nice! and Stay Safe!
Great brewery and fantastic food. The beer hall portion is a unique space that is fun to sit in. Lots of good space and plenty of room for lots of patrons. I recommend their food and their beers as they have nothing but quality everything. If you are uncomfortable with sitting by someone you do not know in the beer hall, you can sit in the restaurant portiom or at the bar. They have pinball and NBA Jam, as well as shuffleboard when covid is not a concern.
Simply put, the food and beer is amazing. Though the selection isn't as large as other restaurants, the quality more than makes up for it. The best party is the reusable cup you can but for children. $25 the first time for the cup, then they eat FREE every meal you bring it back. Perfect place for young socialites and families!!!Update: Since reopening fully at the beginning of the year, I'm glad to see SingleSpeed hasn't lost a step. New beers and menu selections are presents but the same great service remains.
Food continues to be very good here. Everything has a little kick to it, which I like. My only complaint is they have not opened the shuffleboard table yet due to Covid. I shared my frustration with that.
The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious, and the staff is so friendly and funny. We had a group of 9 and Cheyenne was our waitress; they were so friendly, patient, and funny! Thanks for the great night!
