Stopped at this Mason City location while going through Iowa. Decent barbeque joint. Got the lunch special which came with two meats (I ordered pulled pork and chicken breast), a side, and some buttered toast ($12.49). Two bbq sauces available at the table to kick up the flavor. Service was prompt and friendly.
This place was delicious. I got the two meat plate. My choices were pulled pork and brisket. The order came with two sided and I picked the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The smoked meats were delicious. Great flavor and not all dried up. The sides were great as well. Those mashed potatoes were yummy! I love trying new places while traveling for work. Also our server was great and attentive.
My Son, Daughter-in-law and I attended a wedding in Forest City but were looking for a dinner location on Friday night. We chose your restaurant and we’re so happy we did. The ribs were fall off the bone good, the baked beans were scrumptious, the pulled pork delectable all adding up to a fabulous meal. I give your restaurant 10 stars. I’m a BBQ snob, I’ll admit that straight up. I had the Motherlode, which is smoked sausage, sliced chicken breast, chopped brisket, and pulled pork. I though the chopper brisket and pork were pretty darn good. Good flavor, plenty of moisture. The chicken (and sliced brisket that my wife had) dried out. There was flavor, but you need sauce for lubrication. I loved their fries! The smoked beans were okay. Things we’re running a little slow that night, but I can’t fault the restaurant. A lot of it was mental as the family next to us was ridiculously loud and annoying. Again, that’s not the restaurant’s fault at all. I’ll stop back again sometime, especially for the Tuesday All-You-Can-Eat ribs.

I was given this recommendation by a friend after asking for a suggested place for a decent burger. Turns out after looking over the menu, that I opted for BBQ instead. I have no idea how the burgers are here, but every bite of the BBQ I had was amazing! My wife and I split two dishes, one was a grilled chicken, cheese, bacon sandwich, and the other was I think called the motherlode? The sandwich was incredible! The chicken was smoky and yet still juicy and tender. The brisket, and pulled pork were equally delicious if not better. Every single bite was better than the last. Portions were reasonable and prices were fair too. We'll be back!

Friendly staff and tasty food. Ribs fell right off the bone and had great flavor. Meats were all hot and juicy and the variety of sauces and sides was wonderful.
