Prime n Wine has always been one of my favorite places to eat in Mason City. I have never had a bad meal. I appreciate the Early Bird pricing and the excellent value!
The decor and food quality was good. I thought the prices were fairly decent as well. We had a wind flight and I bought a glass of wine. My boyfriend and I split a steak. Take advantage of the happy hour prices.
I had the paper thin lambchops for 36 bucks. Asparagus was way overcooked and thin as a chopstick. This used to be the best restaurant in Mason City, but it's gone down hill. I'll try it again in the future. This was a business dinner that was chosen by my customer and we both agreed that it's not worth the price. I hate giving bad reviews, but this is deserved. Service was outstanding.
Staff...incredible...food (I had the ribeye w/mushrooms)...outstanding! Check it out...its a beautiful place and very date friendly!
Seated promptly and early. A little noisey as there was a large group in a room next to us. Time between salad/soup and main entree was a little long. Prime rib was cooked perfectly. I have a problem with a charge of .75 cents for an extra roll and butter. When you are spending a large amount for your meal it would seem like an extra roll or two would be a no charge item. We are not from Iowa but try to eat here when we visit Winnebago for repairs.

We needed to stay in Mason City for the night and was recommended to try thus place. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Our service was less than satisfactory and our food was way over priced for nothing special. Our food was cold when served and took a very long time. When told it was cold the server responded, “ it shouldn’t be,” and proceeded to do nothing about it. Our server was not very helpful or friendly about the menu. The server did not make it a friendly atmosphere for our child (7). If I remember at the very top of the menu it states something along the lines of service is our priority and your experience is important…..last night this was not the case for us.

I ordered spaghetti. It tasted rancid, so I only had 3 bites. I didn’t complain. About 12 hours later I became violently ill with diarrhea and nausea/vomiting. I will never eat here again. Two of my friends also tasted my food and got sick.
