Excellent selection of smoked meats. Sides are excellent and plentiful. Get the fried pickles too. I love ale and there weren't many on tap from which to choose unfortunately. The manager visited our table and was friendly as were the other staff. Restrooms were clean . I enjoy sitting in a booth but on this day there were none, however available seating was comfortable. There is often entertainment here but we dined early and didn't stay to evaluate. Parking was ample at this time. Add Wildwood to your barbecue rotation. You won't be disappointed!
Badly set up for patrons to view the event. Granted, it was general admission, however you should be able to view what you went to see. Our waiter was very good and always w a smile even if we were only drinking. We were VERY disappointed and most likely not return
Wildwood is not only a bbq restaurant, but a music venue as well. They do both superbly! My meal was cooked perfectly, service was a little slow, but that's to be expected at a sold out show. I love seeing bands here, not a bad seat in the house. Sound is good.
Showed up from out if state based on great reviews. Was brought menus and waters pretty quickly. We showed up hungry and waited about 5 minutes to notice the server behind the bar on her phone. Only 1 table in the place that already ate and about 3 ppl at the bar. We decided to waiit about 5 more minutes. She out her phone down to attend the guests at the bar to then return to her phone. After waiting 10 minutes we left disappointed to not try the amazing Bbq based on reviews. But at leaat earn our business and your tip
Great food, large portions at a very reasonable price! Our bartender Gerri (spelling*)was incredible, she held our leftovers and merchandise behind the bar while we watched the band we came to see, and came and found us when her shift was over and brought us our stuff so it didn't get left behind or misplaced! Great venue for live music!
The corn bread is amazing and the meats have so much flavor and almost melt in your mouth. The best BBQ is at places like this, recommended by locals, not where you would expect to find them, wood on the walls, ceiling, and floors, nothing fancy, because they focus on the food, which is what you're there for.
We went to Wildwood on 3/21/22 to see the group Blacktop Mojo. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left I have to honestly say it was great. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I'm in a wheelchair and most of the area in front of the stage is standing room only with the exceptions of a few tables. We did purchase a table along with our tickets and it was kind of located in the far back corner of the stage area and I was worried that I was not going to be able to see because of all the people standing in front of me so they kindly moved us as far up to the side as they could and it was great. My kids ordered food. My daughter had the macaroni and cheese. My son had the pork tenderloin. They really enjoyed both of them. The sound was actually pretty good and of course the band rocked! It's a great place to see a show because it's so small and intimate. You can pretty much see the stage from no matter where you are. I have absolutely no complaints. The 3-hour trip was most definitely worth it. Thank you to the Wildwood staff and our favorite band Blacktop Mojo!
Today I had an amazing experience at Wildwood barbecue and saloon! This neat rustic restaurant offers a great kids menu, great appetizers, and this is a very bold statement but some of the best barbecue I have ever had! I’ve had barbecue from all over the United States from the West Coast to the East Coast from the south to the north and I am happy to report that Wildwood BBQ and saloon may be the best barbecue I’ve ever had! I was able to speak to the pitmaster and his skills and pride in his BBQ second to none! The staff was friendly the owner made himself available for any comments or questions and the place was busy with fellow diners! If you’re ever in Iowa city or near Iowa city or I would even go as far to say the state of Iowa you must make a trip to Wildwood BBQ and saloon!

Absolutely amazing! We had the Wildwood platter with brisket, pulled pork, and pork burnt ends with sides of fries, fried pickles, and corn bread. It was all so tender and the taste was phenomenal. Our bartender was a sweet girl who gave us some great suggestions as well. 100% will go again!
