We are from Missouri. We came here for lunch, and we were blown away by the food. Service was amazing as well, they were super nice. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and oh my... It was delicious. With fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and crispy bread, it was so light and yummy. Our pizza was the Chicken Alfredo Flying Tomato Style. We have never had a pizza as good as this one. We brought our leftovers all the way back to Missouri and our friends were blown away too.
We are visiting from out of town and read the reviews so wanted to try this place. I LOVE pizza and my husband tolerates it because he loves me. He thoroughly enjoyed it, too!This pizza was SO good. The ingredients seemed fresh compared to so many places. Our server was very sweet, too! Also, I am sensitive to MSG and called ahead to see if they use it in their sauce and they don’t. If we didn’t live so far away, this would be a regular place for us, so now I’ll just hope our travels bring us back again!
1st time just ordered a small and it was amazing. My husband hasn't had one in 15 years now he's a Wig and Pen lifer.

Great small size pizza when you really want a small - square cut - perfect for eating on the road. Friendly service ! Highly recommend and will do again !!!
Wig and Pen consistently wins prizes for the best pizza in the area, and this visit was no exception.I was dubious about getting my wife in and out of the building in her wheelchair, but it was surprisingly easy for me.The staff seemed off their usual stride this visit, but they still did a good job.
3 of us stopped in to have lunch. We ordered right away. Medium Chicago style pizza with 3 ingredients. After 40 minutes no one ever came back to see if we needed anything or to let us know our pizza was on the way. After another 5 minutes with a total of 45 minutes waiting, still no pizza. We left. We will never go back. Service was definitely crappy. It wasn’t even busy.
best spot for deep dish pizza in all of iowa city. my family and i always order the union jack flying tomato. besides haystack onion rings and cheese sticks, they haven’t ordered anything else in the decade we’ve lived here. i’ve had the fish and chips and they’re amazing.
