Delicious Quesabirria Tacos! With a perfect little crunch and so juicy. Delicious!
Besides being the only place in IC (that I know of) which has birria on the menu, the house salsas are really good. Also the burritos are football sized and tasty!Id normally give 4 stars as they missed an order note to go light on rice and beans. But I am a force of balance, and something shady seems afoot with all the one star reviews. Also the order was made on uber eats and notes are often missed.
I thought I was in for a nice surprise after I ate the chips and salsa. The chips were nice and the salsa was pretty good, but the rest of the food was very bland and dry. I got a steak burrito(it fell apart), one steak taco, and two birria beef tacos(they were out of goat). The steak tasted like it had been cooked and sat for some time and didn't even taste like it had any seasonings at all. The birria was ok at best, but still fairly bland. The burrito, which was in a diner style red basket fell apart as soon as I started eating it, and the rice, which I assume was Mexican style rice looked like white rice was also tasteless. The server barely served me, and asked if I was ready to pay before I even finished eating.As I was leaving, I noticed a table that hadn't been cleaned yet still had plenty of rice left on a couple of the plates, so I'm sure I wasn't the only one who felt the rice was not very good. Chips and salsa are the only thing that saved this
The menu was difficult to follow, nobody greets you as you enter. We sat ourselves and cleaned our table ourselves. There were 3 servers for about a dozen tables, so a good ratio, but service was average.The food was relatively flavorless, birria and consume left a lot to be desired. Rice and beans were sub-par. A can of pop is $2 so come hydrated. All seafood options were at least $18.With all the choices in the area, I'd opt out.
Just ordered pick up from here and sent my husband to pick it up. I ordered 3 tacos and specifically wrote in the instructions to put cilantro and onion on them. I'm pregnant and was craving steak tacos with cilantro and onion on them SOOOO BADLY. I was so excited when he got back with them just to find out there is no onion on my tacos. His tacos were just fine, but mine were not. Instant rage. Huge disappointment. I tried to eat them anyway but they tasted disgusting without onions so I threw them away and now my husband has to go get me tacos from somewhere else. Boo ?
April 4 was our first time in. Friendly server, but something was missing. Was it the fact that chips and salsa don’t come with the meal? Or that there was no ice in my friend’s mixed drink? Server said not to worry the Pepsi was ice cold. My friend ordered Jack Daniels but they didn’t have it, so was offered Johnny Walker Red. We had an order of queso, 2 tacos with rice and beans and a burrito. Mild taste and generous portions. Served promptly. I would say more service training would help, otherwise this is a fine place to come for a quick lunch.
We go here when we won’t to grab a bite before grocery shopping. Truly a golden idea to avoid frivolous shopping. The staff was great and the food was tasty. The queso is why they lost a star. It was a bit overly soupy and didn’t grab to the chip. Their pickled vegetables are tasty as all can be. They could just sell that and I would be a regular. I recommend this place a lot for good quality Mexican food. I recommend the quesa bierra tacos 10/10.
BEST TACOS IN IOWA!!! I am very confused by the negative reviews to say the least… Our server was super friendly! Pastor and asada tacos were super filling and seasoned PERFECTLY! Get the QUESABIRRIA quesadilla!!! Our chips and salsa were complimentary but I would definitely pay for them even if they weren’t. The salsa actually had spice and flavor! I thought pricing was inexpensive. Cannot wait to make this a weekly spot!Update: it was so good we came back for dinner the same day jaja. Quesabirria tacos too good!
I swear the negative reviews are fake or they don't have taste buds. First time trying quesadilla birria and Taco loco tonight.AMAZING!!! Corn tortilla and flour tortilla are authentic you can totally tell. 10000% recommend! OH chips and salsa ARE FREE!
