The morning staff at the riverside location are great. They are always in good spirits and that radiates positive energy into their customers day. It’s nice that they recognize their regular customers and know them by name. I will be forever grateful for the morning staff coming into work and being so positive and pleasant that early in the morning ?The night staff could learn a thing or two from morning staff—just a little constructive criticism ? seems they don’t really want to be there…product quality seems to lack around this time as well, and they overall just don’t seem to enjoy their job. This is not with every evening experience, but something I notice 3/5 times we go in the evening. Maybe there are unseen factors playing into this.
They have the nicest staff here! I'm often here for schoolwork a few times a week and the staff here have always been fantastic.
Place is cool and the people are so friendly, but the coffee is not fresh. Tastes like feet!
Had such a good experience here. I came in to redeem my stars I had earned, and accidentally locked myself out of my car. I only told the barista what happened because I was explaining why I had her just use my card on my app to finish the purchase (item was over $20). She must've told her manager and the manager offered me a free drink to make my day a little better and it absolutely did. I love the kindness brought to the atmosphere and the barista's are always so nice when taking my order. I've never had a poor experience here.

We have some really nice locally owned coffee shops and bakeries all over Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. You should definitely take time to discover what’s available. That said, for those wanting the Starbucks experience, the ones we have in our area are very well run with friendly employees. The downtown Iowa City store and Coralville locations are really nice. One that gets overlooked is the Starbucks on Highway 1. There are plenty of windows facing south and also west, with abundant seating options indoors and outdoors.
I stopped by this Starbucks several days ago and ordered a tall iced carmel macchiato. It was the worst carmel macchiato I have ever had at any Starbuck’s. It was nothing but bitter coffee in milk, not a single squirt of carmel. Plus, it cost $7 because I added 2 shots. This is the second consecutive time I have visited this location and been disappointed. I won’t be back.
Very nice store! The staff was delightful. They got my drink and my Sister's drink exactly perfect. I will definately be returning to the Starbucks!
This Starbucks is clean and has friendly, hardworking baristas. The one thing that could be improved on is their sustainability efforts. Sometimes I would order a frappe with my own personal cup, but they would make it in a disposable cup, and throw the cup away once they poured it in the blender or into my cup, which really defeats the purpose of me bringing a reusable cup in the first place! I know that they have reusable measuring cups that they use for customers with personal cups, so I'm a little disappointed when my efforts to cut down on carbon footprint had the opposite effect. This has happened to me more than twice at this location! Hopefully they see this and improve on the situation!
The best Starbucks in the Iowa City/Coralville area! The employees are so kind and do a great job! They also have a nice seating area for a place to work or study.
