While staying in IC caring for my granddaughter we love to visit coffee shops for breakfast and stopped in at Sidekick for a change from our usual stops. The parking off street is convenient and the outdoor space is very nice. There are books for all ages available for purchase and they have the kid friendly space set up nicely with toddler size table and chairs, a train set and other keep busy activities. The books for the little ones definitely caught my 2 year old granddaughter’s attention along with the stuffed animals and the entire kids area. We ordered a fruit smoothie, latte with oat milk, veggie quiche and yogurt. It was a little slow this Monday morning and there was some confusion with coffee orders but the staff were friendly and worked to fix everything and to accommodate everyone. We asked for the yogurt soon after ordering since things were slow so that my granddaughter could get started and she was hungry. Once we got the rest of our order we found an outdoor spot and enjoyed everything. The veggie quiche was delicious - a melt in your mouth crust with fluffy eggs and broccoli, carrots and potatoes… not your typical vegetables in a quiche but reminded me of an egg pot pie type breakfast and we loved it! The smoothie was my granddaughter’s favorite and the serving was very generous. She saved some for later. My latte was smooth and creamy and the maple pecan flavor was delicious. The menu offers plenty of options in coffees, lattes, hot drinks, smoothies, shakes and ice cream, along with the bakery goods (the cannolis caught my attention!) and the breakfast items. The cost was reasonable for the items offered. ($24 for our latte, smoothie, quiche and yogurt). Definitely a spot we will be visiting again. Overall sweet atmosphere, great food and friendly staff, just be prepared for a wait during certain times of the day.
Wonderful cafe and bookstore. Has play area for kids with free books to read.
Visited on a Tuesday morning to study and review with classmates over coffee. I got both food and drink, all of which were over priced. Chai was OK. Customer service not so much. Staff is mildly rude. I brought my protein shake and mini bag of gardettos, and this was considered outside food. Also was explained that this is NOT a library. In the future I will avoid coming here as should other students, as students are not welcome.
Teas were flavorful and well balanced. Ambiance comfortable, pleasantly graced with books, and kid friendly. But the desserts were treacly sweet to the point that the almond flavor in the macaroons was just lost. The texture trended toward limp.
cute bookstore with a variety of different genres. they also let me walk around with my dog, although only on the first floor, which is totally understandable. will def visit again!
Books AND coffee? What is there not to love?Except service was slow (15 min. for a pour-over) and young woman who took my orders aid "no" to a request that was totally doable. The cannoli was not good.
A lovely bookstore and coffee shop that I'll surely visit again. Comfortable seating options: booths, tables, reading chairs. Bookshelves packed to the ceiling! A variety of hot and cold beverage options, bakery items, and ice cream. Busy but not noisy.Pour-over coffee took more than 10 minutes, but it was rich and delicious.Clean, spacious, family-friendly bathrooms.(Skip the cannoli: shell wasn't very crunchy and the filling just sweet rather than flavorful.)
I was told that every achievement Begin's with a decision to try, ignorance destroys so many opportunities. Am a victim but I was convinced by the right person, called Mrs Anita...you know there are many scammers online and we find it difficult to believe stuff like this online but Mrs Anita clear all my doubt so I most testify her good work to many With a start up capital of $1000 I made a huge profits of $15000 within just 5 days of trading...reach her through, WhatsApp: +12133736954 Or Dm via Email: [email protected]
Looked nice, but there was only one table open and they told me it was reserved for conversational purposes. I was alone, so I left. Too bad bc the University Of Iowa hospital has a strict visitor policy, and it was the closest place I thought I could go while I wait for my family members to visit without me since I was the driver. Not interested in sharing a table with a stranger under my current circumstances.
Not sure why this happened but after I purchased a coffee, the owner told me I couldn’t use my laptop at certain tables and that I had to sit somewhere else. If I can’t work on my stuff while enjoying YOUR coffee, why would I come here? I’ll be taking my business back to fix coffee
