Very good food...great service!! Will definitely return and tell others about this place!!
Cool little place we stopped on our way back home to Missouri. The tinga nachos were really good!
Food quality has gone down significantly these past months. The bun fell apart as if it was old or warmed from frozen. I usually get the standard burger and in the past it had been an impressive meal. Maybe this was a one off, but my biggest problem was after I told the waitress, they didn’t offer to make it right. I usually press, but didn’t need to make a scene about it. Bottom line, other places would have gone the extra mile to protect their rep.
We haven’t been to Shorts since pre-Covid, so we were excited to get back there as we have always really liked it. We ordered our drinks. The soda tasted flat. One of the individuals with us ordered an appetizer. After some time, we asked about the appetizer and she said it would be coming out. A couple minutes later, all of our food was brought out, with the appetizer being the last thing to be brought out. Most of the burgers are $12-$14 (including a plain cheeseburger). It seemed that burgers consisted more of a bun than an actual burger, would have been better with a smaller bun. The fries weren’t even that good. Another individual in our group ordered a wrap. The tortilla shell was crusty and hard. The potato salad that came with it was terrible. Needless to say, after having good experience here in the past, we were less than impressed this time.
When you use good ingredients you get a great burger. I love that they use local beef and local buns. Was a great burger, server was friendly, and meals came out quickly. We will be back.
Last night, I ordered dinner for my daughters and I. I used the Chomp app for delivery.For myself, I ordered plain chicken wings.When we got the food, I was surprised to find that Short's wrote a note on my styrofoam container. It said, "So sorry, we ran out of chicken wings." with a "cute" little frowny face after it.Short's was out of wings, but instead of contacting chomp so Chomp could have me make a substitute or ask for a partial refund (Like other establishments have done in the past), they thought it would be acceptable to just make an order of chicken strips and fries and have those sent to me instead.I contacted Chomp. Chomp apologized, adding that it was unacceptable. They contacted Short's. Short's informed them that they weren't going to give me a refund.So, Short's forced me to accept food that I did not order (and would not eat) and then refused to make it right.My family and I were regular customers at Short's, but I will never eat there again. Good food, but I've never been treated so unfairly by a restaurant before.
21 different burger combinations. You don’t come here for a regular hamburger! You got to come here for something unique! I really liked the burger with the jalepeno cream cheese

Great hamburger and fries! A dozen or so combinations of ingredients. Various cheeses, bacon, onion, mushrooms, .etc. check their online menu. Some out side tables (not a lot.) Also varied other items, including some Mexican items. Monday discount on burgers.
When I lived in IC, shorts east was my go to for food and beer. I moved to Chicago and hadn’t been able to return since Covid. That was until Monday.I was able to go! Big props to the bartender and all the other staff. The food was as excellent as I remember. Can’t wait til I can visit again!
