Absolutely love the tacos here! Especially the Perez Family Tacos. Everything is made fresh here. They have a bunch of hot sauces to chose from of all different levels of spice. The margaritas are super tasty and a great deal during Happy Hour. They have some draft beers, as well. They have plenty of meat, fish and veggie options here. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Iowa City and I lived in Texas over 10 years. The service has always been good and it's super cute chill spot. The patio is really nice too, when the weather cooperates.

This was our first meal at Perez Family Tacos. We ordered 3 Rib Eye tacos, 4 Pollo Pibil tacos, and some side orders, to be delivered to our home. We received 7 Pollo Pibil tacos. The chicken was very dry. Two of our three family members sampled two of the tacos, but they were not edible. The rice and beans were nearly flavorless and tepid. The cabacitas was very good. We decided to go out to dinner, elsewhere. I asked the delivery company to arrange a refund for all of the tacos because three were not what we ordered, and they were all inedible. Perez Family Tacos provided a refund for only the three chicken tacos that we did not order. Our experience was a total failure on all counts. I cannot recommend this restaurant. Of course, we will not return.

This is my go to place for tacos in IC. Phenomenal on all of my favorites, and they go beyond the typical red and green taco sauces and add a darker smokier red to the offerings. The pibil is a personal favorite and the Perez Family do it better than anyone within reasonable driving range. We have a lot of good taco joints on the Frange of Colorado and this place competes with or tops many of them.

Fast service and excellent tacos. We had the flour pork taco, flour beef barbacoa, corn carnitas, and corn brisket. The flour pork taco shell was deep fried and amazing. Our other favorite was the barbacoa taco. It was a little spicy, but full of flavor. The rest of the menu looked great as well so we'll have to explore it next time
The food is good, but the ordering system and the service were so slow and confusing. They refused to bring out a paper menu when my phone died and I couldn’t use the QR menu. The wait staff seemed undertrained, they were out of two of the drinks I asked for and generally not very polite or pleasant to interact with. The only other patrons in the restaurant looked uncomfortable too.
