Ordered take out. Had NO flavor. Was very over priced. I would not recommend this. There are many better sushi places in town. Don’t waste your $$
I went here with my sister and brother in law for a late lunch. The food was amazing, prompt, and well displayed. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, a squid dish, salmon teriyaki, last summer roll, demon roll, and fish cake. I also ordered tempura ice cream which is not the standard corn flakes on ice cream. I had to get more food delivered to me the next day. 10/10.
Very nice restaurant. Great service, great food, good prices for large portions. Place was clean and we'll decorated, though it isn't huge and felt slightly crowded.
Food was good. However the service really let them down. Would possibly advise going elsewhere because of how slow and poor the service was.

I love the sushi here. It’s probably the best in town and very tranquil compared to the busy places in downtown Iowa City.
Disgusting food and rude staff.I ate here 9/10/21 with my family for my uncles birthday. We arrived at 6:30 and we all didn't get our appetizers until 8:00, entrees took even longer, coming out spaced apart and cold. I got the Kobe roll and it came out cold soaked in sauce, sour. I ate one bite and that was it for me. Even the Iowa City roll, my old favorite roll here, was bland and tasted old.The worst part was, the server would walk past and ignore us completely. Even when my grandma would speak up louder they swiftly walked past without acknowledging us.It's safe to say all of the meat and fish is frozen, very bland tasting so they douse it in sauce.Overall the service and food was terrible and that really saddens me, I wanted this place to succeed. Oyama was me and my girlfriends GO-TO spot in 2018-2019... its very sad for me to see it go so far downhill.

This is the worst service I have ever received in my life. It took over an hour after ordering before we received our food. They were filling out the to go orders before the people sitting in restaurant. When we asked politely about when our food would be done they rudely told us they were working on it. How long does it take to roll 2 sushi rolls???? Food was good when it finally came though.
