We had an amazing meal here with friends. The best vegan menu I’ve seen in Iowa City and everything was top notch. We were so impressed we plan to go back soon. The owners wine selection was absolutely perfect for our meal and the desserts were also delicious. We cannot wait to go back! If you haven’t ate here in a while you will want to revisit and if it’s your first time you won’t be disappointed.

Recommended! I ordered catering a meeting and heard nothing but good things! Everything was so fresh and delicious! Will definitely be using them for future catering needs.
I’m currently sitting in the restaurant right now doing their 4 course Valentine’s Day dinner. For $58 not worth it. The only good quality was the soup. The risotto was underdone the potatoes with the steak were raw and when we told our server she basically said we were lying. Im in culinary school and work in a restaurant and so were the other people at the table. I don’t appreciate being accused of lying when something was clearly wrong. I showed her the pieces that were raw and she still said they were fine. Not to mention she rarely came to our table and half the time our food was partial cold.
Wonderful place. My wife & I had a romantic pre-Valentine's dinner here. The owner was also our server and took great care of us. He introduced each dish that we ordered. Highly recommended!
We had brunch here this morning. Shrimp omelette and hangar steak omelette both with hand cut pommes frites. Awesome. We would definitely go back. Just in town for the day sadly
We went with another couple to celebrate a recent birthday! The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was AMAZING. The best part of the evening was that the owner stopped by the table, made small talk, went over each of our meals letting us know all the details about them and thanked us as we left….I saw him do this with others as well. Rarely have I experienced that kind of attention from a restaurant owner. Well done!!
Our group of 4 was excited to see that Moonrakers was open again for dine-in. Matthew and his staff did not disappoint. The food was excellent (fish tacos, Cuban, and gnocchi), had a great bottle of wine, and service was quick and friendly. We will be going back very soon!
I am continually impressed by the above and beyond service here. My partner and I wanted to eat outside for my birthday in late November, and they were willing to accommodate. Then, when it was colder and windier than expected they pivoted with us to take out, even letting us borrow and return the ramekins so we could order creme brûlée. We’ve celebrated quite a few birthdays and special events here over the years, and always have fantastic food, warm and gracious service, and an overall great experience!
