Stopped here while traveling and all I can say is that the tenderloin was so bland and dry. Food sucked I don’t know how anyone eats here.
Best food I could have asked for at lunch during working a remodel. Good food, nice owners qnd staff, if you like small talk nice people and good food definitly come here
This popped up when I did a search for pork tenderloin sandwiches while we were eastbound on I-80. This slicked to be an easy on/off/on and it was. The half pork was huge, plenty for each of us and crisp and hot. Husband had the Buffalo topping which had just the kick and lettuce; i was traditwith mustard and pickles. Next time I'll try one of the many appealing toppings: cheeses, onions, mushrooms, bacon, etc. The couple who run it couldn't have been nicer or more friendly. Place is super clean too. We'll definitely stop again.

At the recommendation of everything I read about the top food for Iowa, we choose this restaurant for our first breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. This is our first trip to Iowa and we wanted to do it right! We each got the small (1/2) size with lettuce, tomato & onion added. It was hot, crisp and fresh. Not greasy, but I thought the seasoning was very mild. With salt & pepper, it perked up. My husband loved the homemade coleslaw that came with the basket. The fries were very good. Service was prompt and the food came out quickly. The dining room was very clean.
The place is homey the service was slow the food was delicious I recommend despite the service must have had an off day

This was a terrible let down for me. I used to eat at Joensy's when it was in Solon and had the best tenderloins. This location has for me destroyed the brand. The tenderloin was not seasoned at all and did not taste like it was fresh meat, honestly I could only force myself to eat half of the sandwich. I hear the locations in Cedar Rapids and Central City are much better someday I'll try them but for now I recommend not going to this location in Iowa City if you are a true Iowan that loves tenderloins.
Vrry laid back atmosphere. The food is well prepared and full of flavor. The tenderloin is amazing.
