I used to love coming here, my last 5-10 visits have been very underwhelming. The service was poor and the tables/benches/soy sauce bottles/glassware did not feel clean. They ran a promotion for a free “captain crunch” roll, but when I got it it wasn’t even how the roll was described on the menu, they left out a lot of ingredients just to save money. False advertising. Super sad cause Formosa used to be my favorite.
Cool place. Seats are a bit uncomfortable, and the udon noodle soup had pepper, which I wasn't aware of or happy about. They gave my sister a free piece of cake with a cute golden candle, which was neat.
First date night out without kids in a while. And the wife and I went to Formosa for dinner tonight. We got seated right away and that was our last interaction with any of the staff. We watched countless servers walk past us. Never brought out the waters that other tables got. We got to enjoy watching people get seated after us only to see them be served right away. After waiting 40 minutes without ever having the chance to order or speak to a member of the wait staff. We ended up just leaving. Walked down the block and went to a fantastic little sushi place around the corner. At this point I will probably not bother going back to Formosa.
Food was delicious and the staff were very polite. Also restaurant was very easy on the eyes, overall a wonderful place to go by yourself or with friends and family
Instantly regretted going here. Sat down and ordered calamari and it definitely was not calamari. But the thing that made us get up and leave was that our water and beer glasses were crusted up on the top. It was super gross. What was also gross were the flies in/around our food- in an indoor restaurant in the winter.
No music, table was right by the busser station and bar so staff were walking by every 3 seconds, wobbly table, on one side the bench was against the wall so it was very uncomfortable, bland sushi, dry chewy general chicken that made my friend sick. Stale crab Rangoon. This place just isn't worth going to which is unfortunate because 8 years ago it was the place to be.
Service was good. Table, soup spoon, and water glasses were not clean. We had miso soup and sushi. Soup was good but sushi was mediocre and took a long time to get to our table.
This is a nice restaurant to have a good meal of sushi and/or Asian fusion dishes. We had several entrees, soup, and several sushi rolls. Everything we ordered was delicious. We were seated quickly, but then had a server that seemed to be disinterested in taking care of our table. It was quite disappointing considering the quality of everything else at this restaurant.
Every roll has spicy mayo? Why?? it makes no sense..what about people who dont like spicy mayo?? No thanks will go elsewhere.
Great sushi. A little dirty
