Average. That's about the best I can say. Good service food was OK nothing outstanding. I had the southwest salad my wife had the chicken sandwich. Both were average. I did have a draft beer that was good and the cheese curds were average. Just a warning: The mild sauce for the crispy chicken sandwich is a far cry from mild. It is very spicy. Get it on the side and test it before you eat it on the whole sandwich

This was the perfect stop during our coast to coast drive - incredibly welcoming staff, delicious sandwiches and salads (particularly the portobello pesto), quick kitchen, and easy highway access! We just wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the warm atmosphere.

Received amazing customer service from Darian. She was amazing at helping me navigate the menu. Next, time I’m here I will take her advice and get the salmon. Loved her recommendation to get the Miaggi beans!!! Absolutely, loved the salty sweet contrast.
We celebrated my 77th birthday here and had a wonderful time. The food was great, service was awesome and all employees were very friendly. They had a special for Valentine's Day which several people in our party had. It included Lobster Bisque, Surf & Turf, and Peanut Butter Toffee Crunch Pie. Chef Tracy came out and apologized for food taking so long. We were perfectly happy drinking our martini's and never even noticed the time. For appetizers, we had Smokehouse Nachos, Burrata, and Saganaki. Our server, Tomas, was swamped with tables, but he handled all of us very calmly, efficiently, and still had a smile for everyone.Needless to say, we will be attending on a regular basis now that they have a new manager, Cameron, who was awesome, and Chef Tracy is back "home" again.I highly recommend and stand by BlackStone!
Blackstone is the Phoenix of restaurants on the east side of iowa city. It went through a slump the past couple of years. It is back! It has risen to its old level of greatness. Excellent food and great service, this is the Blackstone from several years ago. The food was prepared well, with excellent combination of ingredients and spices. I don't eat dessert, but I always order their chocolate cake. It is awesome! The wait staff or service is prompt, helpful, and very friendly. It had been a long time since I have seen a wait staff work as hard as this crew. I give the current Blackstone my highest recommendation.
