First timer. Atmosphere was great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Pet friendly. The dishes my family had. Were great. Service was good. Our table could have been picked up more but she was busy. Very understandable. Only two negative comments, were extremely loud. (I'm sure it was such a big open area). Also restaurants that tend to have an open ceiling. Don't clean all there piping up above and all the other equipment up there. They received the 5 star because of the food and quickness of our food being brought to us. Also of course because of there pet friendliness. Thank You D.J.

Loved this restaurant. The food was amazing. Very creative and delicious. The Fondue Fries appetizer was AMAZEBALLS! The mac and cheese also so good! And my husband loved the beer so much he brought home a dozen. Loved the atmosphere. Beautiful outdoor seating, and even an area for kids to be able to run around, and the parents can just hang out, have a drink, eat, and still keep an eye on their safety. 100% recommend

A great brewery in Iowa City. The place is huge and have a lot of outdoor seating. They also have a kids playing area. They have beer selection based on season, which was great. The food kept up with the beers. The crispy cauliflower was very good. The fries were crunchy and good. So this a perfect place with a combo of good food and beer.

Not much parking on busy night. Large selection of craft beers. Service was a little lacking, they were busy. Got the pulled pork was ok & fries (salty wow). Cheese steak was uniptesive & banh mi (really good)sandwiches. & tried 2 brews, polotnaby leak (warm smooth sweet hoppy) & fungible token.( amber, wheat, long fi nish)

Love the variety of beers and the 7 oz beer size. It lets me try many different beers in one visit. Great atmosphere as well!

My family has dined at Big Grove a handful of times. Despite always being busy and packed full, the staff is always pleasant and happy to help with a smile. Our server was Ella and she was great. She was patient with our 3 year old and helped give suggestions when they were out of a few beverage options. She was quick to take orders, checked on us frequently and we didn't have to wait long to be seated nor receive our orders. Great vibe and spot for drinks, dining and just relaxing!

This lunch hour+ exceeded any of our expectations and was INCREDIBLE! The selection of beverages on tap was great, and included more than just Big Grove brews. The amount and variety of food choices on the menu was just right. When there are too many offerings, we get nervous as it has been our experience that a restaurant can't offer everything and have it all be good! We shared the fondue fries as an appetizer and each had a burger, all of which were very good. The best part of our experience, however, was the service. Our waiter, Alex, was friendly, attentive, and helpful. As new, interested customers, we were offered a tour of the brewery and even the lab after our meal. Chad went above and beyond to show and tell us all about their brewing as we toured the facility, answered any and all of our questions, and made sure to point out any obstacles for me as I have a physical disability which affects my mobility. I cannot say enough about Big Grove Iowa City, except that we WILL be back!!

This is my favorite place in Iowa City. Good beer, good food, good service. The outdoor patio in the summer is the best. I love the rotations of beers, especially in the summer. Easy Eddy is my go-to beer no matter the occasion. The menu changes occasionally, but the new additions are always awesome!! And their fusion foods never disappoint. I’ve also gotten takeout from here and it is so easy to use.

I have stopped in here a few times when traveling to Iowa to visit family and quite honestly, even with just a few visits, this place is on my list of favorite breweries. Haven't had a bad beer yet here, plus the space at this location is spacaious and quite nice. A perfect pit stop when I fly into Des Moines or Cedar Rapids and heading down to SE Iowa.

We ate at BG frequently when my daughter went to school at Iowa. 2019 Grad!! We loved the atmosphere. They had the best chips and salsa. Now … what happened? Prices were easily 20% higher. No chips and salsa. Smaller food portions. Ugh. So sad. It feels like they sold out to a restaurant management corporation. Now I will have to find somewhere else to go when we are in town. The house salad was warm which made the lettuce feel wilted. How do you make a bad salad?
