Fantastic food! Excellent service, went twice this week!!
Margaritas are a hit or miss and service can be slow but otherwise a nice place to eat.
Authentic Mexican food. Great service. We part of a group of 20. They handled it well.
Our family had a delicious and delightful dinner at Salsa's. Great salsa with warm chips, Carne Asada done perfectly, yummy chimichanga, and excellent shrimp tacos. Our waiter was very kind and friendly and listened to our 5 year old share all sorts of stories, plus graciously helped with a spilled water cup. Next time we're in Dubuque we'll be back!!
I ordejred a chimichunga but that not what I received.I'm a little disappointed by the guacamole it was not fresh it takes like store bought guacamole. The queso cheese dip was the saving grace. The water was polite and prompt.
Had the brisket tacos that were the special tonight. So good.
Great food, friendly service!
I don't review a lot of Mexican restaurants. Usually I don't have anything noteworthy to comment. But this time was different. For better or for worse many Mexican restaurants taste the same and have similar menu offerings. Yes there are plenty of differences from business to business but there are so many more similarities. I can't count the number of Mexican restaurants I've been to. They range the gamut from intentionally Americanized Tex Mex to places that proudly refer to themselves as authentic. The service here was fine. They were clearly understaffed but that is the new normal. I thought pop music was an interesting choice but I can forgive it even though I don't enjoy it. Where things went sideways was the food. The salsa was the most tasteless that I've ever experienced. Nearly flavorless. I've enjoyed salsa at hundreds of Mexican restaurants. This one takes the cake in the lame category. For a business with salsa in the name it's perplexing. But to be fair it may not be completely their fault. I don't think Dubuque is the capital of flavor town. The residents of this scenic city may not have a tolerance for flavourful salsa. I noticed a chalk board sidewalk sign that announced pork chops as the daily special. Either there's a multiple personality disorder or this poor restaurant is trying so hard to adapt to the clientele of the region. I digress. Guilty. The cheese dip again was very very bland in a way I can't compare. No bite, no kick, not even one bit. As if it was adapted for infants. My entree arrived which was chock full of vegetables with few appearances of the chopped steak that was promised in the menu. This may be what the fine folks of Dubuque are into. But I can't resist informing those from other places who are expecting something quite different and far superior.
Not my favorite chips & salsa, burrito was quite good.
My wife and I went into in for lunch. We were seated promptly and our order was taken very quickly. We ordered an appetizer and margaritas. Both were delivered within 5 minutes. We split the fajitas, which was more than filling for two. Overall our experience was very great from the service to the food.
