Food was really good, service on the other hand.. a bit slow. But don't let that stop you from stopping in. The pepperoni rolls are phenomenal, and their pizza has a delicious crust and sauce (we went with the pan style crust). Nice bar/restaurant atmosphere. Worth stopping in.
One of my friends got a free pizza because the chef screwed the order up (big bonus). My friend's grandpa got a pomegranate iced tea he'd "caution anyone from ordering", but I thought it was pretty good when I tasted it. My calzone was fantastic. No complaints from me. 5 stars!
My husband and our out of town sisters-in-law went to Old Chicago for a late lunch. In the process of getting seated I had the unfortunate incident of falling, out of no fault of the restaurant. I have to say a lot of the staff was there practically before I landed helping me in any way they could. The manager Andy Blankenbaker immediately had a staff member from the kitchen, Samantha, who knew exactly how to get me back up on my feet. Between Andy and Samantha and the other staff I was back up on my feet the easiest I ever have had. I want to thank the entire staff at Old Chicago for their caring manor in which they help this old lady. Thank You !!Also, on a more important point of interest, I must say the food and drinks were excellent. Everything was done to perfection and would highly recommend everyone go there for a meal or two or three or more. We had a mixture of appetizers, pizza, burgers and beer and tasted great. Everything was was hot and served in a very timely matter. Laura T.
We are from out of state and went to a restaurant named Old Chicago to get an authentic Chicago style pizza but were very disappointed to find out that they had modified their recipes. Our pizza was good but sadly just not the same or as good as a traditional Chicago style pizza.?. The name is VERY misleading!
Went in on Friday night and had great service and amazing food at the bar. It was a busy night and the staff worked so hard to please us. Once it slowed down a little we got a chance to talk to the bartender Antonio and one of the servers Beth they were so much fun to get to know! Great atmosphere!
I had and amazing visit here at old Chicago. Our food was great. But most of all our services from Beth was amazing. Will return again for her alone. I was confused why one server wasn’t wearing jeans?
I was here with a large group. There were about 40 of us. We ordered a lot of food. The staff was pleasant and handled the large group well. And the pizza was pretty good.
Only reason I gave it a 1 status to leave a review I wouldn’t give it a one star. Waited 40 minutes nobody come out waited 40 minutes nothing asked waiter he blew us off a waitress came by asked her she went back and we were still 4 tickets out blamed it on they were busy but half of the room was empty the manager wouldn’t even talk to us more less look at us… if I was corporate id walk in and fire the whole works and start over
Stopped for dinner after my son graduated from UD… needed a table for 12, sat us at 2 round tables probably 6 feet apart. So we pushed our tables together. Server took our drink order and forgot my soda - not a big deal, he brought it fairly quickly. Took our food order and that’s when it all went downhill. Ordered 4 apps, only brought out 3. Started bringing out orders and told him he forgot an app. Eventually that came out, slowly, along with the next mistake - a wrong pizza. So, slowly a couple more orders started coming and we mentioned several times that there were still 3 of us who hadn’t received our food, and he repeatedly asked us what we ordered - he should have this written down somewhere right?? After about half an hour after all of this, one of us went to the wait staff station and mentioned it again and said we at least wanted a time estimate of when we would actually get our food but it fell on deaf ears. Manager came out and asked what we were waiting on and we had to tell him yet again. After well over an hour at this point, manager came back and said they were short staffed and that he comped our entire table of meals - all fine and dandy but at this point the damage had already been done. Oh and that mistake pizza in the beginning? Even THAT fixed pizza came out before all of this. After more of a wait, one pizza came out, and of course, it was wrong. Then mine came out and yep, you guessed it - wrong again. We didn’t even care though, asked for a box cause we didn’t want to be there anymore. Right before we were getting up to leave they finally brought out the last order (and he was the whole reason we were out celebrating graduation) and we asked for a box for that. Service was horrible. Manager tried to make up for it….. and through all of this, not a single one of them gave us an apology. Not ONE. Absolutely awful experience - maybe you’ll have better luck if you’re a small group of 2, but then again there were 2-3 other large groups in there who seemed to be just fine. Will never be back here again, thank god.
Should have left when seating was an issue in almost empty restaurant. Server was practically invisible. Took forever to bring drinks. Salad which was described as being garnished with roasted almonds, tomatoes and cucumbers was stale lettuce and very dry. When asked, the server said they were "pre-made". The pizza was tasteless and dry. The celery was brownish and the chicken wings were also dry and tough. Word of the day "dry". While we were there, people left without ordering and many more left without being seated. Way overpriced!
