it was just OK.. I know they had abbreviated hours and were supposed to be closed..I just don't know why that is when a restaurant is attached to a hotel.. that kind of put me off.. nachos and drink was good.. staff friendly enough. just don't get the days off and hours. thankful they did open for 4th though I guess
Chicken tender appetizer is the best in town. The stuffed chicken breast and mashed potatoes are also a hit.
Good was good. Desert was sitting for awhile before we got it so the creme brulee was not smooth and the sugar on top was nasty.
I would give houlihan's a five star rating hands down! We stopped here for a small bite to eat and a drink and left very happy with full bellies. We tried the fried shrooms and chicken strips. Fried shroom sauce is amazing! You will not be disappointed with the service here either. Our waiter's name was Dan and he was fabulous.
Always good food. Fish tacos and 'shrooms are excellent. A bit crowded on the weekends, but that just means this is the spot to go in Dubuque for good cuisine.

They were busy not enough servers we had a young kid he was very nice but he never came back to see how things were asked if we needed more water. (but he was busy with tooo many tables)meat loaf was tender potatoes was on the bottom of meat loaf not enough gravey. It was ok
Our server apologized several times for the wait which we didn't think was that bad... (Everywhere else was hour or so just to get seated, we only sat at the bar for 20 minutes before our table was ready)They are short staffed I'm sure, but you would never know it by the quality of the food we got! Steak was perfectly cooked as ordered, and my French Dip sandwich was delish. Appetizers/sides were well seasoned and fresh. Good beer selection and the dessert cheesecake was divine! We can't wait to come back and try the outdoor seating!
Other than the waiteress disappearing on us for an full hour, and then replaced with the another waitress; everything was great.Food was great! Given the vicinity of the restaurant, prices were very reasonable.Great place to have food, if staying at the Hilton next door.
