I love Zanzibar's. I'm not huge on coffee but I know lots of people who love theirs. Their scrambled eggs and toast are amazing as well as their orange juice. There is just a great energy to the cafe that you can't get at some generic place like Staruck's. All the staff members are so nice and welcoming.
Hands down, great local coffee shop in Des Moines.
They have a great selection of coffee. You can buy whole bean or they will grind it to your desired coarseness. I love their steam cooked eggs. My favorite is the steamed egg sandwich on an English muffin complete with cheese and choice of onion, hot sauce. Staff are efficient and polite and the owner is great. The dining area is small and it can be crowded in the mornings.
Great spot! Usually tables seem to be full but there's a counter top for solos. Been twice, first was nice second too, but the register lady was kind of being a .... punk lol.Great coffee, one of the best in DSM. Great atmosphere, lots of plants.
Zanzibar’s is a delightful little coffee shop with a cozy, old school vibe. Their coffee is spectacular and the snacks are tasty. Sooo many beans for purchase your head will spin!
Such good coffee and a very welcoming feel. Would definitely recommend! Heads up, there's no wifi, so don't plan on going here to get work or studying done here, and there's also very limited seating. Everything else was perfect though!

I chose 5 stars because 10 wasnt an option. I have lived in a lot of places but have never found a coffee shop with better staff or iced white mochas. I love you zanzibars!
