I was here last month for breakfast and it was fast, excellent and recommendable. I've also had their pizza, which was excellent. I will return again for sure!
We came here for brunch with a table of 8. First, I want to say that our server was kind and great! The issue came when my French toast arrived. The menu states that it is fried but it came out very fried and practically black looking. After we made a small complaint, the manager came over and this was the main problem. She arrived with a massive attitude, carrying a menu and proceeded to state that “the menu clearly states it is flash fried!” and walked away. As you can see from the photo, this is not good looking French toast and it did not taste good either. A number of others at the table mentioned that their food was just okay and not great. Overall, the attitude of the manager was disgraceful and we won’t be back.

What a great place for breakfast! Recommend biscuits and gravy pizza. The gravy is outstanding. Didn't get a chance to have traditional pizza yet, but if as good as the breakfast items it must be good!
Delicious pizza, at least the one I tried, French dip. Waitress was kind and service was good. Bummer the full menu wasn’t available today.
Friendly staff, good food, good beer selection. The meatballs make for great leftovers!

Located in downtown Des Moines, IA this quaint restaurant will not only feed you well but keep you entertained as well. Featuring their own special pizzas, they also are known in the area for great breakfast items as well as the usual sandwich items. The decor as well as the menu highlights KC Missouri sports. From the autographed pictures on the wall to the Royals baseball cards at your table, you will be reminded of its name. A real delightful meal location!! Try it, you’ll like it!!
We were looking for a quick bite to eat while visiting the war memorials near the Capitol building, and weren't disappointed. Our bartender friend went above and beyond, making beer and food suggestions and he was right on. The French dip pizza was great, the salad was fresh and tasty, and the beer selection was abundant. Thanks, Truman's!
My wife and I decided to try Truman's KC Pizza Tavern last Friday night and I am SO glad we did. The pizza was excellent, the staff were great, just an overall great experience. I would highly recommend it!
