Ted's Coney Island on Ingersoll never disappoints! Their gyros are out of this world! The meat is fresh and warm. The pita is soft. The tzatziki sauce is perfectly seasoned. My order was taken promptly and the staff were very polite. My food came out in a timely manner. Definitely worth the visit!
The legendary Ted's. I love the new Diablo Falafel Burger. They are not just coneys any more. The vegetarian options are all very good. I go there at least once a week. the manager is very friendly and the front staff is efficient, never got my order wrong and I tend to mumble. The cooking crew is super fast and seem to be able to have some fun. It's Des Moines treasure on Ingersoll. They even have a piano out front in the summer!
Beware of the hot headed "Manager" (male)! I ordered 1 gyro bowl & 1 gyro basket with no tomato on both. I was polite said thank you... Then they put tomatoes on my daughters gyro & she does not eat anything with tomatoes. So I politely went back up & asked to have one made with no tomato please, no big deal to me... Then a guy in the back(referred to as a manager later in the convo) got all rowled up & frustrated then called me a "Bit*h... Wow! For them messing up my order that's what I get called & treated for what??? I didn't yell or anything with any of the workers. The gal working the register came to my defense though & got on him. She even stated he has acted like this before. She also said I probably won't come back & she's right sorry to say... She gave me a refund & the other workers were very apologetic & I appreciate that part.
Love this place!! I have not found another Gyro that can beat theirs. Absolutely some of the best food in Des Moines!! Highly recommend it.
As far as I know, this is the only place in Des Moines to get Vienna Beef dogs. Also had one of the best tenderloins I've ever had here, and I've had a few.
Ordered the Falafel Baskets I asked for cheese even called to make sure that cheese would be added, my order came with no cheese. When you order the basket it comes with coleslaw fries and onion rings. You would think you would get whole onion rings but you get deep fried onion pieces, the falafel patty is gritty and horrible, the secret sauce on the burger terrified my taste buds into remission with how terrible it tasted ?I even spent extra money by ordering it by Uber Eats and at the end of it all I wasted my money.
Great prices and fast service - good spot for if you need something on the go. Not too crowded for dinner, either. However the quality of food was not fantastic, the only item that really stood out to me was The Coney (which I highly recommend!). The fries, onion rings, and fish sandwich were below par. But still, give this place a shot if you wanr something economical and fast!

I'll always give 5 stars to the owner, staff and food!! However the customers that get in the drive thru are terribly rude with the drive thru and parking lot situation. If the drive thru is pretty busy you won't be able to get out of the lot. The other vehicles feel like their going loose something if they have common decency. BEST ONION RINGS IN MY OPINION, and don't forget the Tezeki ( butchered spelling) sauce. It's too die for!!!!
Had the Diablo tenderloin, very good. Onion rings and fries were good too. Fries were almost like McDonald but fresh. Would like to try the gyro next time. Staff was nice. Would definitely go back again.
