Every single dish was so good. Glad we celebrated friend's birthday here. Look at that chocolate cake portion!
The jambalaya was great, the burgers were so good, and our server was fantastic. Will diffently be back to a very good restaurant.

We were in Des Moines on a Thursday evening. We wanted to eat at a local restaurant rather than a chain. We saw the Star Bar and thought it looked like a nice place. It was neat and clean inside and out. The waitress came to our table within 5 minutes and brought our drinks out promptly. I ordered the Boss Hog and my boyfriend ordered the Monte Cristo. The Boss Hog looked really good but unfortunately, I didn’t like it. I usually order ham/bacon/pork items when we go out to eat. So me not liking the Boss Hog may be more of a personal preference than it just wasn’t a good sandwich. As far as the Monte Cristo it didn’t look like it was battered, it was a little smaller than the size of a half sandwich and it was burnt really bad. The bread was completely black and the meats were burnt as well. I’ve ordered 6 - 8 Monte Cristos over the years (from different establishments) and all were a very large portion, battered and deep fried, and always cooked just right. If I was the one that ordered the Monte Cristo, I would have asked them to remake it but my boyfriend wouldn’t ask. So he ate the Boss Hog instead. I just don’t understand why the cook or waitress thought that the Monte Cristo was acceptable like that.
Not sure who your guys executive chef and kitchen manager but my hats goes off..me being a 22 year chef myself I'm a rough on restaurant and rarely eat out but this food was very good.1.server ari was a gem!2.food was hot and fresh3.i can tell every thing was made from scratch.The dressing honey mustard and ranchThe onion straws was fresh cutOrdered chicken tenders it was real chickenThe hamburger bun was either in house made or either locally made.we came after.9 pm and everything was made to order. Will be back KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. ITS THE SMALL THINGS
I love this place for the solo dine-out experience. Everything I've tried on the menu is great. Service is quick. Never a grumpy bartender! ? ?

We went for brunch. The bar tender was sweet. Ordered shrimp and grits. Who makes shrimp and grits with no cheese? Was bland like baby food and it sadly never occurred to me I had to ask if there was cheese in it. Oh well!
food was good . i lost my keys and they helped look for them. customer service was outstanding esp helping me look for my keys! Thanks guys!
Great food and amazing service! Our server was friendly and efficient, even though they were super busy.
