We were in from out of state and our local guy brought us here. They have great ice cream and unique flavors. Definitely recommend checking this out!
Courteous staff and a lot of options (shakes, malts, ice cream, sundaes) to choose from. Best part was the puppy cone - our pooch loved it.
This place is wholesome and delicious. I typically order a Snickers, cheesecake bites and gummy bears in vanilla ice cream 'arctic blast' and they do not skimp on the toppings or the ice cream one bit. An elderly man, who we assumed to be the owner, saw us eating ice cream with our small child and he gifted us a free pint of ice cream for no reason at all. That's the type of place this is! (Super photogenic scene as well, imo)
Very busy but our malts were delish.. We were met with a friendly person at the drive up who takes your order, you then drive around to the other side where your sweet treat is ready to pick-up. Other amenities are picnic tables with umbrellas and a couple family gliders to enjoy, rather nostalgic.?
Staff were great, however there are some irresponsible dog owners who bring their pets. Ice cream was phenomenal. Parking is not great but there's there's cash saver across the street.
Good summer spot with a pretty deep menu of frozen treats. Note they only serve vanilla and chocolate soft serve ice cream. They have an item that is comparable to a DQ Blizzard on the menu plus your standard fare of shakes and sundaes. The malt was good but not the best I've ever had.In peak season there is typically a long line of cars at the drive through as well as in the parking lot. Tip: park in the church parking lot to the west of Snookies.
Going through the drive-thru kind of made us nervous. When we all go out as a family our simply meals are always messed up or missing. Now saying that, it was so nice going through here with 6 adult and 10 items total, they brought out our ice cream and everything was correct and so yummy!
This place is a Des Moines institution for a reason. Love that they have non-dairy options for my mom who is lactose intolerant!
I'm a health inspector, and wow does this restaurant bypass some stuff. They violate the FDAs outdoor food policy, public decency violations, homebrewed achohol, and multiple insect/mice infestations. Its rare that your ice cream doesn't come with an ant. I try not to judge restaurants on their taste, but this is so bad it makes an exception. Its rotten and disgusting. Do not eat.
Was so disappointed. Turtle sundae had rubbery pecans and the chopped butterfingers tasted like they had been sitting on the shelf all summer. Threw both of them away. Was really sad cuz it used to be such a rock solid place.
