Liked it so much we went back the next day. Visiting from WA state and the had a really good experience. The restaurant is in an old house and is roomier than it looks and quite pleasant inside. The staff is amazing - really friendly and welcoming in a genuine way. I had a grilled salmon Caesar and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The next day we stopped on the way to the airport because we knew they serve quickly and it would keep us on schedule. Not disappointed great service and good food again.
IMO, the Best Burger in the state is served here! My burger was done to perfection from fresh ground beef, garnished with fresh tomatoes and onions, and topped with peppy jack cheese. Served with a side order of black beans. A great meal ?. The servers were awesome ? too!!
Terrific food, prime rib melts in your mouth. Staff is amazing, prices are a little higher than average but the food is worth it. My wife and I both got prime rib and drinks and it was about $80. The only downfall is that it was a bit too crowded. We'll go back again.
We've never had a bad meal here. It's one of our go to places to celebrate milestones. Tonight was my parent's anniversary and they did not disappoint!Try the seafood chicken or steak sandwich!

Amazing food! My lemon ? butter shrimp pasta dish, the best I’ve ever had! My side salad was Amazing and big. Definitely will be back soon!
Skip’s has proven time & time again that they have theee best pasta in the metro. Everything they serve has the best flavor. The cozy ambience & awesome service makes for the perfect date night. I don’t think there’s a thing on their menu that’ll disappoint you, all the way down to the drinks. This south side staple is a must!

Had a fantastic meal tonight. Chicken Picatta and Carbonara. My wife and I both loved our dinners. Have grown up with Italian cooking. This was one of the best we have ever had. Not sure when/if we will ever get back to Des Moines but if we do this will be where we have dinner.
