Lived right next to this Potbelly’s for over 4 years now. Absolutely love this place. Extremely easy to order on the app and just walk in and pick it up in 15 minutes or scheduled for whenever you want. Thank god downtown Des Moines has this Potbelly’s.
Best soup I’ve had in Des Moines!!! Chicken pot pie ? delicious ?!!! I called to compliment the store and Nate told me he made it with love!! So delicious!!! A must try ❤️❤️❤️ As you can see from my picture I had to stop eating just to take a pic for the review but soooo delicious
I stopped by to get sandwiches for people at work. One person is so picky. Marisol paid attention to the details, marked the sandwiches appropriately and put the utensils and napkins in the bag. She was absolutely on top of those little details that make such a big difference. She was very professional and engaging in conversation as she made my order. This was one of the best experiences I have had with Potbelly. I used to live in Chicago and Potbelly was a must. I was thrilled when downtown Des Moines got a Potbelly. Marisol was a very special treat on top of absolutely delicious and unique sandwiches.
I come to this location for lunch on a daily basis. The sandwiches are the best I have ate at any other sub-sandwitch establishment.What makes this place really great though is the staff. I am always kindly greeted and always feel welcome. You all are fantastic!!
1/11/22 I ordered delivery by door dash. I ordered the Wreck original sandwich with double meat which included roast beef, ham, turkey and salami. Quality of meat was good. I always order double meat because I want than just bread for a sandwich. You do have to add your topping on the order or it will come plain. I like that option. The ends of my bread was soggy. I also ordered a strawberry shake, it was average but definitely not worth the money.
The service is excellent. The staff is polite and friendly even when the restaurant is busy..The staff is especially helpful with accessibility problems from the limitations of the building like limited automatic doors. I use a wheelchair so accessibility matters to me.The sandwiches are good, but basic. The limited add on options are disappointing. I always add more vegetables or spices when I get the sandwiches home. I would love to see more choices for add on options.I would have given five stars if there were more options to customize the sandwiches.I haven't tried delivery yet because the app tells me that it's not an option. The restaurant staff assures me that they would be happy to deliver during business hours.

They don’t put anything on the sandwiches anymore. I called and talked to a manager and she said they are all plain now unless you request toppings. My dream bar was soaked in pickle juice. Because I ordered with DoorDash she told me it’s a DoorDash problem. Very disappointed!! I live the West Des Moines store never had an issue.
The food was alright but the waitress behind the counter was pretty sarcastic and rude. Came off standoffish while she served a few different customers during our dine in.
