Ordered “The Dave” which is a pastrami sandwich. Pastrami is one of my all time favorites. Had this been my first experience with pastrami I’d never have one again. It was dry, tasteless, just an utter disappointment. I thought. Maybe the 7 layer bar would redeem the place but nope, also dry and pretty blah. The Lays chips were the highlight…???

Great food and even better people - can’t ask for much more! I placed a catering order with Manhattan Deli for a work event. Cheyanne called me the day of to confirm the order and pickup. The sandwiches were ready right when she said they would be and the 4 gentleman behind the counter were welcoming and charming. There was nothing but praise for the sandwiches which were a mix of the Brianna, Manhattan & Reuben. The sandwiches were stacked full of meat and flavor. The potato salad is unique and out of this world delicious. Believe all the of the great reviews - they are 100% true.

Who microwaves sandwiches? THESE GUYS. Could be killer, if the sandwiches were fresh, and warmed in an oven. But no, they are premade and microwaved. Not terribly bad but I have no idea why people rave about this place.

Wow !! The Popper !! Takes ham and cheese to the next level. Manhattan Deli always does a great job so I’m not surprised. Just glad to discover my new fave ham and cheese. Yes !!

The hardest part about going here is deciding what sandwich you want. Their menu is amazing. I had the Little Italy. Why 4 stars. Their hours 10-3 Monday through Saturday. Unable to go during the work week and its closed when I get off work, then many times will pick up a deli sandwich on Sunday for work on Monday. They are closed.Love this place just wish it fit my hours better. I would definitely eat here more often.

I have gone to this restaurant since I was a kid, and since it has been sold to the new owners, it is definitely not the same! The girl working the register was very snotty. When placing my order I had asked for my soup while my sandwich was being made (Like I have always done, even with the new owners) and she said yeah that is fine. Then after paying and waiting for the soup, I had gone back up and asked if I could have that soup now, since it was right behind her. She got very aggressive and said that's not how things work anymore and you can wait. She was very rude and unprofessional. If she would have stated when I was ordering that they can't do it that way anymore I would have understood, but to talk to a customer that way for no reason? Very disappointed and will unfortunately no be a returning customer anymore.

Fantastic sandwich shop! Delicious offerings and a very expansive menu. The side dishes were really good, if you're in the Des Moines area, and want a fantastic sandwich, make the stop here. Parking in the rear so don't fear!

Had the Mama Mia and #2 Hoagie. Fantastic sandwiches. Tasty, great flavors that splash through my mouth with every bite. Yum, this will become a regular stop!

I've been patronizing this Deli for around 45 years now (since Dave Bassman owned it}. There's still a quality that's hard to beat even though it's into it's third ownership. Still a personal favorite!

I had the Big Apple sub and man was it delicious! The service was super fast and still had great quality food!
