Great food. Good service. Slightly noisey -- hard to talk sometimes.
I really love this place, the drinks, and the environment. I always have the portobello fajitas, simply delicious! The only reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because I love Mexican food with some type of hot sauce, Mexican salsas, or anything spicy, and the 3 times I’ve been there they always tell me that they don’t have any hot sauce. So next time I come over I’m gonna have to bring some cayenne pepper or hot sauce from home.
Absolutely love this eatery. The Dos Pescados was muy delicioso! I really want to give my experience 3 ⭐️ because the bar service was absolutely ridiculous. My friend ordered her meal and it took an hour and a half to get. We were so perturbed by the time we left. However, the food was good enough it made up for the poor service. Eat the Tacos! Half price margaritas are a WIN!
I threw a surprise birthday party for my mom here this last weekend and all of the Malo staff, waiters and cooks were absolutely fantastic!!! The process in reserving the La Sala, or private party room, couldn’t have gone any smoother; with great communication from Anna, the general manager and Meghan, our hostess for our event, was an absolute angel and was so attentive and truly awesome at her role. Of course, my whole family, never having tried Malo before, were absolutely blown away by the food and overall atmosphere. My mom, family and I couldn’t be happier with our evening!

Food service wait staff was fantastic. The bar staff was incredibly slow. It took 15-20 minutes to get our drinks from the bar and all we ordered was 2 bottled beers and 2 draft beers. Even our food wait staff apologized for the very, very slow bar staff. Once our food was ordered, it came faster than our bar orders! Our food was amazingly delicious.
I’ve visited Malo regularly with business clients and always had a great experience. This time we sat at the bar and were ignored by the non-busy bartender for 15 minutes: No greeting, no waters, no menus. After flagging down a different bartender, we were well served. We still left after a couple drinks without eating due to the initial experience.

I will get carnitas as a common denominator for any taco place I try. And maybe they were just having an off day in the kitchen, but the carnitas here were so dry that I sent them back. The second set was less dry, but I would still consider chipotle carnitas more flavorful for half the price.
