My first and last time eating at Mad Meatball. I got the all you can eat wings on Wednesday night. The first order of about 7 boneless wings was dry, hard, cold and it took about 35 minutes for the order to come out. The next order of wings didn't come out until 45 minutes after that and we were told that they were understaffed. Understandable, but we weren't told they were understaffed until about halfway through waiting for our second order. At this point we had been in the restaurant for about 1.5 hours and only had around 7-10 wings each, not the "all you can eat" as expected. When our second order of wings did come out there were only 5 in my order... The only good experience to come out of this place was that the manager gave 50% off for the meal which was reasonable as I will pay for the few wings I did eat. I can't blame the waitress as she was attentive and handled the situation very well. We could tell she was genuinely trying her best.I was saddened that we had this experience. I was really hoping this place would be a new favorite. I usually give the benefit of the doubt but in this case I have to be honest and I would not recommend this restaurant unless they seriously overhaul their current service.

First time trying this place; wouldn’t recommend. It seems like the calamari is just frozen and warmed up with no seasoning. This was supposed to be the Idaho potatoes; again looks warmed up. Looks nothing like what is described. The meatballs are overdone. Overall just gives knock off poor quality Italian.

Tried out the mad meatza pizza very delicious. Had plenty for leftovers. Plenty of big slices of bacon and Graziano sausage on the pizza as well as plenty of cheese.

I love this place! The new location is so nice and the service is always great! Their pizza is the best, and don't forget happy hour! Kayla was an amazing waitress! She is wonderful

went for all you can eat wings. waitress only came to table 3 times in 2.5 hours to ask about food. $22 for all you can eat wings. i got 18 wings. one of the orders was wring flavor. had tonask for water 3 times. the food was good though.

Service was good at the old spot and continues at the new spot. Staff is friendly and chill. Seems like lots of locals and friends stop by and I like the fact the staff engages them. Feels very much like a neighborhood bar. Another neighborly thing they do is have specials! Hopefully when you stop by one of their specials is on!The new area is really neat and a lot of new housing has gone up and some other cool local restaurants and businesses.

One of the best tasting pizzas (& onion rings) in Des Moines. Full bar that is huge, drink specials on board. Free parking in back of building. Waitresses & owner were very welcoming. Relaxing atmosphere!

Our first visit was during opening week. The meatball sub was probably the only thing that was okay. The sauce on our wings was very bland but the chicken was alright. We decided to give it a second chance and ordered the pizza & pasta. The pizza bottom was completely white and the pasta sauce did not taste like they make it in house. Very disappointing.

If you couldn't staff it, you shouldn't have opened it. The staff you got is clearly unhappy with the work. No greeting, no service, except to tell me the beer list is on the wall, then no return. No smiles, just a lot of running around avoiding eye contact lest it lead to another customer when they already have too many it seems. I heard the guy to my left tell his friend he couldn't seem to get any attention after 15 minutes, so I took that as my cue to go elsewhere. To make it, and to have returning customers, you'll have to make some real adjustments.

It was OK. The meatballs are super tasty but otherwise.....
