We have taken buffet option. Unfortunately rice and chicken were good and rest are the numbers. The place is Smokey and hot. Air conditioning is not working. We love to see this place better than this.
The ambience was very dark. Lack of windows was suffocating. I noticed some houseflies too, and the most concerning thing was food was definitely NOT fresh. However, the staff were very welcoming but I felt like the owner had given up all hope about saving the restaurant, and accepted the fate about the reputation of the restaurant going downhill. For a reference: Check out the unhappy and freaked out customer
We knew we were in for a treat when the people coming out of the restaurant were of Indian descent. And we were right! The food was amazing. The chai was incredible. The service was friendly. And the price was right. Enjoy!!
Best Indian food in Des Moines. The service was fantastic and the food was great. The biryani and garlic naan was awesome.Highly recommend!
Pros: AMAZING food and great staff!Cons: It is SUPER cold in that place! In the mid of winter they set thermostat at 60 degrees or below. If you plan on going you should wear several layers and a coat. The parking lot is very small, so expect to park your car on the street and walk a little bit. The place is really run down and at first glance it gives the vibe of. “this might give me food poisoning”. If they would fix some of these issues this would be a perfect place to eat!
A nice Indian style buffet place. Not a lot of options but the quality of food is decent. There are both veg and non-veg options. We did not find samosa but there was a samosa roll. In particular, the chicken biryani was really good, same opinion for the chicken tandoori. There were two options for desserts too. There was a nice masala chai available as part of the buffet too! Finally, they make garlic naan for you as soon as you arrive and there is always a choice to ask for more.
Delicious food, lots of fresh-made options on the lunch buffet (both vegan and meat options), wonderful chai and endless naan. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. Great value!
The Buffet is really affordable. I guess it's more for American taste budds. The buffet ain't indian level spicy. Food was quite oily as expected from most restaurants. However, plenty of items to try and eat. Indians who don't eat very hot food would like it I guess. Staff was very friendly. :)
Good food. One guy there is always welcoming and very attentive. Will continue to eat here on a regular basis. You have won our repeat business.
If you are into Indo-Pak food this was a good place for my first time trying it. This is a mom & pop place that's just cooks and a kitchen. I was surprised how good it was. Down home and quaint, friendly staff and clean restrooms. ?
