LOVE THIS PLACE! ??Wonderful staff & food! Had an amazing night! ?“ Life Is A Combination Of Magic & Pasta”September 18,2021

Stopped at Latin King, Italian Restaurant while passing through Des Moines. We told them we were from NY (true story), and they treated us like gold. Turns out the GM lived in Staten Island and came up in the restaurant business. He and our server Lexi know exactly how to bring hospitality and food together! The food was great. The people were great. The environment was great. We’ll be back next time we come through! ‘Tú saluté, cent anni’

4/29/2022 the food was not good, no taste, substituted ingredients, i.e. some other white cheese, not ricotta in the stuffed manicotti dish. The staff was overwhelmed. This place is not the same quality as when it was owned by the Tursi family. Just DON'T GO THERE. I'm sorry I don't like to leave bad reviews but don't waste your money, not the place it used to be.

We hadn't been since the new owners took over and unfortunately the service, food and atmosphere has definitely changed and not for the better. Hopefully things turn around.

We was shut down for wind yesterday. You are limited as to where you can eat. We literally drove around 20 mins looking for a place and stumbled across this establishment. It was established in 1947! Treated as royalty! A little pricey....but you will NOT be disappointed! We don't typically spend this much but like we said food was limited where we had to shut down. Food 5 stars! Staff 5 stars! Atmosphere 5 stars! Family friendly 5 stars! Highly recommended!

I was looking forward to going to this landmark for a year. No reservations for party of 4 or less. Was told 15 min wait, turned into 1 hr. The place is large and it was full in waiting area and bar was full of at least 30+ and just one bartender. Finally seated in large crowded cafeteria style room that was load and had no atmosphere. Waiter was inexperienced and food delivery was hit and miss or not at all. No food presentation at all, just slopped on plate. Food taste was very bland, like something you would get from food bank. Restaurant under new owner in last couple of years so this is probably reason for quality plus Covid times. Spent $150 for long wait, no atmosphere, noisy, crowded, and bad food. Sad for such a landmark.

Our server acted like it was her first week, but said she’d been there for 3 years. Seemed only interested in speaking to the 3 men in our group of 12…all women were ignored. I asked for her recommendation since it was my first time, and she seemed irritated and I ended up with the chicken spiedini, which was VERY dry. I did get the Alfredo and pasta with it, which was mediocre at best. No explanation of why some people got a weird little bowl of pasta with their meals, there was nothing on the menu that explained this either. It’s a cute restaurant and the cheese sticks and carrot cake were the redeeming features, but the experience was pretty bad overall. Several in our group loved their food, the others felt very underwhelmed. Everyone who got dessert thought it was amazing, though. NOT an ideal restaurant for a larger group, especially when they sat another larger group right next to us. It was so loud. Server knocked me on the head several times while reaching over or around me.

Stuffed pork chops were amazing, never had them like that before!!

The worst experience I've had here. After 90 min wait the left alot to be desired. Had the baked lasagna which had the consistency of bad baby food. I could only stomach 2 bites. Extremely disappointed

Definitley not the quality of food Tursi's had. Steak wad good, but vegetables and pasta not hot/sauce mediocre. Salad mostly core, minimal dressing. No variety of Italian bread, just dinner rolls. Didn't ask if we wanted baked potato or croquette, fries? Seemed like they're trying to skimp on food but charging $43 for a beef entree. The server was very attentive and worked hard for our party of six.
