We called to the restaurant on the way to confirm if they are open and informed them we want a table for 3. They agreed that we can come for dine in if we reach by 9, though the restaurant closes by 9:30. We reached by 8:50 and we were denied for dine in and were treated by rude receptionist with attitude. We were given an option to order carry out. It was so disappointing to drive all the way for a dine in experience and had to take carry out. I would ask the restaurant to honor their timings mentioned on google or change it so customer don’t go disappointed after driving all the way. Giving 1 ⭐️ because of the treatment we received.
I do love this restaurant and their food. However, the last two times we have ordered takeout, we've had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for our order. Tonight we made an order at 5:30 pm and were told it would be about an hour. We got there at around 6:45, and it wasn't ready. That was fine, so we sat down to wait. Almost an hour *after that* we asked about the status: just another ten minutes. Almost twenty minutes *after that,* we left, no food, and they didn't even seem to care. We spent over an hour well after the time we were told our food would be ready, watching people get seated and get their food before us, as well as several other takout orders.
The food is so bad and the service is very poor.Shrimp curry and chicken curry tastes the same. The waiter forgets to give raita for the chicken briyani and when we asked he gave that after five minutes. This was the first time and probably the last time too!!!Not recommended for Indian food.
Food is hit or miss most of the time. It feels like a resturant that has forgotten its roots. Asked about no salt in my tandoori and got reply that most people like it this way. Portion sizes are small for me so bill is always high for average food.
Had a great dinner with my babe, tried this place out since our go to was closed, really enjoyed the food and drinks. Will be coming back again for sure.
My favorite Indian restaurant in the whole entire country is right here definitely check it out the food is great the staff rocks very very very good food
It's a very nice place to enjoy a meal. The food is good. The place is very clean, and covid careful. The naan is the best in the city.
Very Bad food. We ordered Maharaja dinner plate for two. But the lamb in the tikka curry was rotten. The appetizer served was not fresh and not sufficient for two. Even in the entry they served only one naan for two person. Not recommended. Not going to visit again.
Since it was an hole in the wall on Beaver until this day on Douglas India Star has delivered consistent, quality, sumptuous food.Creamy Korma that will give you good dreams. Samosas with actual lamb. Rice with a wisp of exotic cardamom.Well grounded in India tradition they also know how to deliver gustatory satiety to Iowans
it’s hit or a miss… I have tried food here 2-3 times1st time it was good…I had dinner thali and it tasted really good.2nd time okay tasted reheated.3rd time I had Malai KoftaKofta were clearly not fresh they were fragile — it would break as soon as you put a spoon in it no texture…clearly frozen and reheated.Quantity was super less and gravy was just tomato paste it did not have any flavor in it and rice were hard.Giving 3 starts cause of my 1st experience only… only breads were made to order and tasted fresh
