I absolutely do NOT recommend this caterer. Went to a wedding where Angie catered and the food was absolutely awful (of the food she did bring). It looked and tasted like straight slop. She even seemed to show up late AND forgot the main entrees (tamales and enchiladas even though tamale catering is literally her restaurants name). There was also supposed to be a variety of entrees (beef, chicken, and pork) yet there was only beef of whatever the slop she brought was. Angie claimed the bride didn't want them but there was literally a sign at the wedding of the menu and it had everything on it she forgot. The bride absolutely had a panic attack because of it and now this restaurant won't refund the money of what food they didn't show up with. Absolutely no way to do business, Im certain the BBB will be in touch love. Also the fact you're trying to get these reviews taken down when you did something fraud is no way to run a business. Wish you luck Angie, my dad and I also supported your business but no longer after what you've done to my friend on her special day. P.S. I was in no way asked to write this review. This is my OWN opinion after your actions and actions have consequences. You deserve bad reviews for not just bad actions, but fraudulent actions. Have some professionalism. OH my goodness. I've never tasted such deliciousness before. I ordered 2 dozen rajas tamales to freeze some for later as I live in Ames... and I'm so happy I did because we ate a dozen in 2 days ? the tamales were generously stuffed with jalapenos and cheese. What could be better? 20/10!!!
Angie is the best and her cooking is top notch! Had Hot Tamale catering for our wedding reception, and didn’t have one complaint. Tamales were delicious. Enchiladas.. Yumm! Love her pico and everything else!!! Cannot recommend her and her services enough. Wouldn’t have gotten catering anywhere else. She was also there to help during reception planning when she didn’t have to be! Thank you!!!

Those tamales are to die for! The owner is passionate about helping her community. She often provides free meals on holidays to those in need. I’d recommend ordered ahead as she does sell out often- totally worth!
Delicious food that made my tastebuds dance. She donated a big meal to a family I know and while I picked it up I made a comment about future ordering while having a dairy allergy to work with. The owner immediately made a rice bowl with fresh salsa for me to try. It was inhaled. So impressed with your initiative to feed local kids, support community members, artists and your friends all while supporting your family. Major kudos. There will definitely be future orders from us.
Owner is great! Very vocal community driven business. One woman shop and most of her stuff is pre-ordered since it's just her and her family. Odd hours so you gotta pre-order and plan ahead. Foods always made fresh. My brother and I live in Ames but we like to order lots to freeze for later. Worth the odd hours
I recently took advantage of a Saturday sale on the dozens! I messaged my questions, got a prompt answer, appointment for my pick up time that I chose. I had a fabulous experience at pick up, very friendly, prompt service, food was hot and ready!! Took my order home and my family loved the chicken tamales and beef and cheese enchiladas! The rice and homemade salsas were so fresh and full of flavor!!
