Delicious food! Affordable! Fun find!
Terrible not edible, :( This place use to be good never thought I would see the day it went downhill spent 48+ dollars to feed my Family tonight and was unable to eat it. Taste like when you burn a pan or a really dirty deep fryer, I use to love the hot sauce and I could not believe that even that was contaminated, if I knew if was going to be this bad I would have requested a refund had to throw the food away, if you do order smell the hot sauce if it smells like a old band-aid do not eat it
Clean your pans and Deep Fryer, the taste of your food is not what it use to be.. has to be the pans or oil even the hot suauce does not taste like it use to or suppose to
Ummmm I drive from Indianola to get food from here. The last time i got the food was amazing. This time the food tasted cheaper, older, and just not good. It sucks because the service is great, but our food today was lower than one star :(
This place is the spot to get take out! if you haven't tried there fried tacos, you most defiantly have to!
I used to love Henry j’s however over time this establishment had grown more unprofessional. As a customer I’m rarely greated. The workers look like they rather be anywhere else and are often found sitting in the lobby. When I get my food most of the time it’s thrown together and half cold. I’ve even seen a employee walk in just to make himself food and leave when they had many customers waiting and when a customer asked about he’s order he said “oh I don’t know I’m not working right now and laughed” and left. Don’t recommend take your money elsewhere.
I'm so happy you reopened the dining areas...I live too far away to get tacos home while they are still warm. I have had out of town company and a son dying to try the place I rave about daily. Finally got my son there today! He understands now! I even bought a hoodie to spread the word for you!

I love Henry j’s. I would go there every day in high school. I love this place because no matter the day or how packed it is they always take the time to make your food right and perfect. I think this places is one of Des Moines best little secrets. And the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend! You guys are amazing!
