Hello, Marjorie has been my favorite bar in the area for two years now. Todd, Desi, Jim, Sage, Josh, Nick (the owner) always take incredible care of myself and any patron that walks through the doors. I’ve never had a bad experience here, the drinks are always fantastic, and they change their menu quarterly. Tonight, we are starting with the Marjorie because a dollar of every drink is being donated to a local charity that deals with women’s rights and abortion. The fact that they are looking out for myself and the rest of the humans with uterus’ just reaffirms that this is my favorite local bar. I’ll always support Nick and his crew here. Keep doing great things and making killer drinks, everyone!
If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I've had the same server a few times and she is great, I asked for a recommendation and told her what kind of drinks I usually get and she immediately knew what to suggest and it was delicious! The drinks are so well put together and amazing! If you like a great atmosphere and craft one of a kind drinks this is the place! I'm becoming a regular here for sure!
Easily one of the best bars in Des Moines. Come for the cocktails, stay for the service. This place will make you feel like a true guest.
Love coming here with my friends. Their cocktails are inventive, aesthetically appealing, and still delicious! The ambience here is unmatched by other DSM bars.
Let me set the scene.. we were just leaving the Hamilton show close by (highly recommended that btw) and we wanted some drinks to close out the night. We came to Hello, Marjorie and had the BEST time! The vibes and atmosphere is just *chefs kiss*. We were warmly welcomed when we entered and got a seat. Even asking us about if we went to the show. I was amazed that he even knew. I think our souvenirs gave it away ;) But that’s ok!Our waitress for the night so fun! It could have been the couple of drinks we had or the high of show. But she recommended an amazing drink that complimented my first drink and whoa!This is where I was blown away by the staff..Last call was made and things were wrapping up. We assured them that we’ll be out soon. Just waiting for our Uber to arrive. They were super understanding and even insisted we wait inside with them until our car arrived instead of waiting along outside. They were even so kind enough so have a male bartender walk us to our car to make sure we made it safely and did end up on the 6am news for 2 missing moms.Wow! Wow! Wow! We laughed, we had the best drinks and we were welcomed from start to finish.
Great cocktails with a unique atmosphere. True craft with house made ingredients, (I believe) hand cut clear ice, and great house drinks. Also, at least one bartender had a waxed mustache so you know it's the real deal.
Low lit atmosphere, comfy chairs, can hear your conversation at this place and it looks like it was made in the 60's era. Loved everything about this place, the two tequila drinks were delicious.
What a spoof of a place. Yes it is cute that it's a well hidden speakeasy type of place. However the hostess had a bit of valley girl attitude on how important the place was and how busy it was to be seated either up front or in the back speak easy. Her dismissive manner turned me off, so we walked out before waiting the 20 minutes to be seated.
Classy and best craft cocktail lounge. Creative as well. A very good spot and I 100% recommend for someone to celebrate your special occasion here. Their house cocktails are the best.
WOW! We rented Hello, Marjorie for our rehearsal dinner and the service was INCREDIBLE. All of the staff was friendly and met our needs. Hello, Marjorie has always been a favorite Des Moines stop of mine. The vibe, the service, the drinks...just amazing!!!!
