The best margaritas in Iowa - hands down! The wait staff is friendly, the bartenders are knowledgeable about the tequila they’re serving, and the owners are such a joy to be around. On holidays or major events it can get a bit busy but if that’s not proof that this place is where it’s at; I don’t know what is. Coa’s happy hour is fantastic, the music is always bumpin’, and the food is delicious! If you’re not close to the East Village area, it’s worth the trip. ?

Worst experience I had in a long time , on pride too. It took almost an hour for a waiter to come help us , while they helped everyone even people who came in after us ... Then my second drink which the same as the first was made wrong and last my friend asked for a spoon to put his Salas in his to go bowl she gave he a dirty spoon I would never come here again . So sad cause the food is pretty good. I normal don't do reviews but this was the worst ever I been treated in a restaurant and I hate to pull the was it cause we are black card but all the people that wasn't black got helped and faster and they keep checking on them and only checked on us twice.

If you’re looking for the best tequila bar in the metro this is your spot!Down in East Village where there’s always lots of fun people and a great view of Des Moines!I had the best two margaritas I’ve ever had in my life!?Had some amazing salsa and chips and guacamole ? they also have great ?The patio was popping with beautiful people and great vibes!

Went in this past Sunday to have a few drinks and some food. Was mainly looking to have some drinks. Sat down with my cousin who joined me for the evening since we had a concert to attend later on. We thought the bar area would be better to try out drinks so we choose that area. They have a patio, inside and downstairs dining it seemed like.Anyhow we had to flag the bartender down because it seemed like he was the only one there. He was kind of rude rushing to get our order and then the rest of the stay we had to get his attention to get his service. Both had a vegan chorizo taco that was tasty. We shared a queso with chips and chorizo. Queso was delicious I’d give it a 8/10. Enjoyed a mango coa margarita with a delicious rim of what seemed like tajin. Honestly we would of enjoyed another drink or three but seeing how the service was bad we decided to just leave.Ambiente was pretty cool though the music playing was good and lively. Just service needs improvement. Might try it out again later this summer but for now it didn’t leave me with the best impression.

We are going to have to come back and try all the other drinks! The margaritas were absolutely amazing, and the guacamole was super fresh and delicious! The bartender was a great sport, and the owner was full of great information. We hope to see this place around for a long time! We will be back!

This was already the best tequila bar in the Midwest and now they added fresh guacamole and excellent street tacos. DJ and trivia to boot. One our faves!

Best date spot in East Village! The absolute best frozen margaritas I’ve ever had, available when it’s warm outside. A great selection of beer on tap, including Pacifico. They just introduced Tacos, which I can’t wait to try. They also have a new pop-up shop at Wells Fargo!

Love the Tierra Roja! Try it! Staff is always super nice and service is efficient! Love the DJ here, too!

Great drinks! Meghan was very friendly. Loved the ambience. We had Coa Paloma and blackberry margaritas!

I can see they’re trying, but…honestly the worst marg I’ve had in my life. Terrible. The guac was tasty but the serving was pretty small for sharing and half of it was literally an unsmashed chunk of avocado (we cut it up with a chip ?)There’s better places for margs with chips and guac. I won’t be going back here.
