The views and the outside seating is something you will not find elsewhere in Des Moines. Also it's is the restaurants that I know of thst is right on the bike trail.Good beer selection is great. Plenty of craft beers. The food is your basic bar food but one stand out is the tacos.
If you are looking for a kid friendly, dog friendly, or just a vibe friendly place, this is it! I’ve been frequently here in the summer and have never had a bad experience. Always fast and attentive staff even when they are packed. We love it here. Also their curly fries and bacon cheddar cheese burgers are my kids favorite ????.
Always good times down at Roy's! Great outdoor atmosphere by the river, live bands, tons of outdoor seating and the food is great! There is inside seating as well if outdoors isn't your thing but, you gotta love dinner or lunch with a beautiful view. Right near the bike trail and Birdland Marina!
Pretty decent bar right along the bike path with a very nice waterside area and tons of space outside. They had live music and an awesome outside setup when I was there. Thanks for hosting a really fun night Captain Roys!
Friendly small place with amazing bands and a wonderful outdoor area! If you like good beer, great music with pub food and a nice atmosphere just outside downtown, this is the place.
Best place to pregame before hitting the water.. they have corn hole and fast friendly service .. decent beer selection and good food but lacking and slacking in that they don't have DRAFT beer :(
I love this place, Love, love it. Service is great. Cheese curds are the best. They're expensive, the cheese curds, but isn't everything. They must change the oil often, peanut oil probably. Because they are cooked perfectly golden brown. Have a band almost every weekend. No cover. And yes it's loud. But a set of inexpensive ear plugs makes it all good.Stop in and say "How do" to the guys and gals behind the bar. I've read some of the other reviews and some mentioned the lack of service behind the bar. They are short staffed as most business are. I have always been served within a couple of minutes, even on band night.
Great place to sit outside and listen to good live music while have a beer/drink.
