We when there they first put us at a very small table then they finally moved us to a different table that was a better fit the server was very helpful and nice he even told us he had a disability and he had a hard time hearing but his service was really good but the place was fairly busy and my burger didn't have any lettuce and my fries were cold but overall his service was good just didn't like the fact he gave everyone a receipt even my kids separately instead off one with everyone's food on it and it took a long time just to pay. He ended up adding the tickets together then I paid when he should off done that in the beginning and gave me one ticket so I actually know the total instead of adding everyone's receipt separately.
Service seems good, but it smells like mold really bad inside the restaurant.Edit: I went back a second time. I ordered a steak with mash potatoes. My steak wasn’t cooked enough. There was enough mashed potatoes on my plate for 4 people. No joke. And everything was soaked and gross in butter or dirty water. I couldn’t tell. I spent $42 on the Ribeye with topping and the Wonton app and couldn’t even eat the food. Kinda crazy where Applebees has gone. I’m not one to leave bad reviews. Or any review actually. But this was insanely bad. And once again it was hard to get a refil to wash the taste out of my mouth until the waitress realized I was ready leave. She asked if I wanted another Pepsi to go. Also, I sat there for a few minutes with my food before they brought me silverware and napkins and the napkins looked like they came from the bathroom dispenser.
We went to Applebee’s on Se 14th St. in Des Moines Iowa today Sunday May 22nd around 4:30pm . We had 13 people my grandson just Graduated from high school . We had a server who took our order , got our drinks. And was gone . The place was really dead at first . We got an appetizer brought out by another server. Then about 20 minutes later another appetizer came out . We waited for our food for another half hour . A couple of dishes came out, half of the food was missing on the plates , no fries with the sandwich, or bread stick with the salad . Meantime other people coming in we’re getting there food eating and leaving, most of us did not get our food yet . We waited another half hour , then another dish came out. People all eating around us . Our table only had a few of us eating then an hour later more of our food came came out. The server said one of the sandwiches was chicken and gave it to the wrong person and he started eating it, and it was not chicken at all. Then I asked to see the manager, she came out I told her about everything she just said ok , and had the server bring me a coupon to buy one meal and get one free. I was so insulted! We had 13 people and some were children that had to sit for hours with no food. I will never step foot in that terrible place again. The manager never even apologized. It was horrible service, We were treated terrible . It was sad that our day ended so awful on my Grandsons graduation day. We should of at least got half off our tickets, or a lot of it free. I won’t be using that coupon. We all were going to order dessert we thought when we went in, but didn’t even want to sit there another hour and only a few get it at a time . Disgusting place. I have never been treated like this anywhere, can’t believe it. Very sad .
Ordered a steak and broccoli plate with fries. Steak came out like a hockey puck. Almost too tough to eat. I don't think that's a plate worth ordering! Apps were good though! Cheese curds were perfect!
Very busy when we were there. They were also short staffed. We had a bit of wait to get seated but ot wasn't bad. Felt that we got our meal in a timely manner even being short staffed.
We understood there would be a wait time due to low staffing. However, our waitress Olivia moved at a snail pace and spent a lot of time visiting with diners at another table near us. It’s okay to be friendly, but the conversation was about other diners. Our meal was cold when she delivered it to our table. Wish we could have left a tip for the kitchen staff. She certainly didn’t deserve it.
Came to eat tonight 4/27 at 7:30. We were sat in a booth by the bar. Took 40 minutes for our food. Every plate that came out was cold as if it had been sitting in the back for a period of time! We asked for new food and was told they could “warm it up”. Our server had friends/family eating behind us and she was very attentive to them and their food came promptly. She clearly doesn’t treat all customers with the same level of customer service. A man at her table was rude and made comments to my friend saying “take a picture it last longer” when she was watching a tv above them!! Highly unsatisfied with this location!
Hostess was rude she needs better manners . I decided not to eat here I hope the head mangment sees this because I will be complaining higher
I have been ordering from this Applebee’s for sometime we went and ordered to go curbside for $42 a couple weeks ago it was over 25 minutes late getting out to me when we get home the fries are cold we ordered the quesadillas one was supposed to be well done and one was supposed to be medium so I checked them and this is what I found they are hard as a brick. It all went in the garbage. I won’t be going back for quite some time.
First time in a long while we’ve been at this Applebees and I doubt we will be coming back. It wasn’t busy at all but the service tonight was horrible. Our waitress was very sweet but she only came to our table 3 times. Our food took 45min to come out and our appetizer came with it and it was cold. The manger did comp the appetizer but it just seemed like no one that worked there minus the bar staff was really wanting to work. The host had his friend and girlfriend there (just assuming bc they kissed) but while there was people waiting he was at there table eating the food and chatting with them. A gentleman that sat next to us said he waited for his food for an hour and a half. I know things have changed since the height of Covid and I believe they were short staffed but that doesn’t excuse the lack of service. My food that came out was very good same with my husbands. We were just disappointed in the service.
