My favorite restaurant! Food is always cooked perfectly and they have a menu that constantly changes with new exciting options. Their unique sauces and sides really make your entree special. Staff is always warm and helpful. The art and doors that hang on the ceiling along with the large windows are wonderful! Can't wait to go back!
Went for the Valentines Prix Fixe menu. Everything was fine but nothing amazing. Service was a little slow, understandable on Valentine’s Day. Not worth the up charge. Looking at their regular menu prices their soups and salads are all $9-10. I had a citrus salad and husband had the wedge. I had the gnocchi with chicken (normally $21), and the molten lava cake (normally $11) for $85. Husband had the sea bass and PB&J bread pudding for $90. He ate the ice cream but we barely touched the bread pudding. Not sure where they thought the $85-$90 “prix fixe” value was added to what is normally a $42 dollar meal. It was worth $42, but not double that per person, which is what we paid that night. Maybe we’ll go back for happy hour as their cocktails were solid but not for a meal at full (or in our case double) price.
For my wife's birthday today, I took her on a date to Alba. The plates were phenomenal and the flavors of each ingredient complimented the next on every dish we had. Friendly staff and a relaxing environment. Hats off to the owner and the chef behind our meals. All around fantastic experience, and we cannot wait to fine dine here again.
Don’t wait for a special occasion! The service and menu is incredible. Tonight was gnocchi and seabass. When we want fine dining in the East Village- Alba is our choice!
Good food, decent ambiance and excellent service. We enjoyed our dessert the most, a perfect molten chocolate cake with buttermilk ice cream and will just go back for that..it was that good.
Food (drinks, app, main, dessert) was fantastic, as was the staff. Garrett worked with me to get our group’s reservation on the books. Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely recommend!
My favorite restaurant when I visit Des Moines with my husband. Service is always impeccable, food always so delicious, they have a great selection of wines and my husband loves their cocktails. They definitely do an amazing job as a team.
Fantastic Experience! They have a chef’s table opportunity where you can sit with a party of four and have a AMAZING meal. That’s what we did as a holiday treat, and it was unbelievable. The chef here is fantastic. Garret, the front of house guy, is charming. 100% recommend.
Fantastic food, drinks, and good service. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Des Moines we have been to. We really enjoyed the pork confit, the gnocchi with chicken confit, deviled eggs, and salad. Cocktails were great as well.
We had an amazing dinner at Alba. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted unbelievable. Even the cocktails were OnPoint. I highly recommend stopping by and trying this restaurant out. The staff was very friendly, helpful, engaging, and sometimes that’s very hard to find!
