Is Quad City long-time restaurant. If u get behind someone ordering 40 to go wings-(they have great wings)- it is going to take you 50 minutes to get 2 burgers and fries. Only 6 tables filled and it took that long. Waitress never checked on drink refills or anything. Great food variety and pricing. Maybe needs some kitchen reorganization!!!
The waitress was not very friendly. Pleasant enough, but kinda snooty. We ordered a couple burgers - kiddo upgraded to sweet potato waffle fries. Food comes and fries were regular. Okay, no big deal. We start eating and all the fries tasted like onion rings.Now, I have an onion allergy. Not enough that would deem necessary to mention it when I eat out, but enough that it's annoying for me later when my esophagus is a little swollen.I wanted to let the waitress know that the oil may need changed and made it clear that I wasn't complaining, just letting them know.I was told the fry oil is changed nightly (never heard of that in the restaurant industry due to cost, but okay), and she seemed annoyed by the fact that I was letting her know politely that my fries tasted like something I didn't order. Although she lied to my face, I still tipped her $9 on a $31 bill.Probably won't be back.
Have been going here for nearly a decade. The food is always great, we usually go for the burgers and always make sure we ask for the seasoned fries. The service is almost always amazing, we have never left there upset about our service. The only negative thing I can say is I'd rather use a portapotty at a construction site than use their bathroom, and my wife says the same thing about the women's bathroom. We don't go to restaurants for the bathroom though, so that's alright.
The filling station has been my favorite place since I was young. Things would change over the years but still always by far the best restaurant, but after being let down by " my favorites" the wings, nachos, and tenderloin I'm done. What ever happened the past couple years is what's killing it. Everyone I know has been going to filling station for years all say the same. Go back to the old ways because eventually know one will want to come back anymore. Hope this reaches the owner.
I have been to TFS twice before and never had a problem. My most recent visit, March 22, was less than to be desired. I ordered their raved about wings and fries for lunch. When my lunch came the wings were tiny and the fries were cold. The server never came and asked how our food was or I would have explained my fries were cold. I guess if she were paying attention she might have noticed that I didn't eat the fries I ordered when she cleared our table. So I left there hungry after eating 6 tiny wings and 3 cold fries. To add to my displeasure my bill came and it was outrageous for the food and service received. I spent nearly $30 for my "kids meal" and a mixed drink.
The burger was very delicious! One of the best ever with carmelized onions and BBQ sauce. Sweet potato waffle fries were amazing. Server was very attentive. Seating was comfortable. Love the decor. Will definitely go again!
I’ve been going to the Filling Station for 20 years on and off. Been good and been bad. But I think there’s been way more good than bad. Great service , variety on the menu and good food. Great spot to enjoy!!
We called to place an order at 5:40 pm, The person who answered the phone laid the phone and we were stuck listening to the bar crowd for over 20 minutes. What a sad excuse for a restaurant.
Always a good stop for wings and a beer!I went with the Boneless Wings and Fries special, 1/2 lb of wings and fries smothered in cheese and bacon. For the wings, I went with the waitress recommended Bourbon Sriracha and Roasted Garlic Parmesan sauce. It was a great recommendation!Highly recommend if you're looking for good wings!
Dining in is always an experience helpful staff and good food. Service is always top notch off. If you're going to order drumsticks order at least a half-hour and advance it takes them awhile at lunch time. Other than that the people are good and so's the service.
