Wow! Great restaurant with delicious homemade food. Our server Ashley was FANTASTIC! She persuaded me to order the award winning porkchops for dinner. I have NEVER EVER in my life ordered pork chops out! They were so delicious!! The sauce on top was sooo good along with mushrooms. The fried chicken and garlic mashed potatoes was delicious also. There was so much food we had it for lunch the next day. They offer family style homemade cole slaw, spicy apples and mixed vegetables. We were the last ones in the restaurant and was able to have a nice conversation with the manager who had friends back East where we live. Such a great dining experience. I totally recommend eating there.
Nothing but great things about our trip the The Machine Shed. From making our reservations about a month ago to 1 dessert that fed 5! Our server Amber was absolutely fabulous with our party of 7. We had 7 dinners, 2 desserts and everything was just great.
Atmosphere, service, quality of food . The Machine Shed checks every box. I don’t get to this area often but when I do I look for one of the locations. It’s worth the stop snd worth the wait too!
Went here for my birthday dinner w/ the boyfriend. We made reservations (highly recommended if going on the weekend), and our service was quick and friendly! We made the mistake of getting an appetizer and got way too much food (hardly a problem) as we forgot how many sides the main dishes come with. Everything was delicious though and made good leftovers !
Yummy warm apple slices and the chicken pot pie was hot and fresh. It was crowded but we did not have a long wait but it took awhile to get our check.
Fabulous service! Machine Shed is always a stop on our list when traveling through Iowa! Delicious food, awesome service EVERY TIME, and cute gift shop/decor to shop. You cannot go wrong here! Check out the meatloaf!
Really nice place to stop after a adventurous day of Geo Caching. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, prices were fair. We enjoyed the Facebook special. So before you order look them up. We had great meal for 20.00 per person!! Including the tip. Trisha was our server. She was fabulous!!
Stumbled upon this place while traveling through and so glad I was hungry. Portioning was spot on. Sides are served family style. I had the turkey pot roast sandwich and it was a nice hunk of turkey with homemade mashed potatoes and fantastic gravy. I took a piece of carrot cake home with me and you can see how big it was. Will make a stop again when I am this direction. This also have a little area with country goods and a John Wayne section.
I try to stop in when I travel in the area. This time I ordered the BLT and a pork tenderloin sandwich to go. I got the fries on the side, which were coated and really good. The BLT was excellent - not the best I've had, since the best I had was the previous time I got one at Machine Shed, but it was solid and loaded with bacon. The pork sandwich is large, fried and served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. There is also a horseradish mayo sauce that comes with it, or you can get something else. I'd recommend the spicy mustard - fantastic! I also had the option of getting the salad bar for another $3 or $4, but I went over to look at it and it was pretty plain for me. The service was good and they got me my food and drink promptly. The BLT was great and the pork tenderloin sandwich was absolutely delicious! I also got some cinnamon buns to go. They were huge and really good, but Cinnabon is probably better. Still, good and no complaints. I wound up splitting one of the buns over 2 breakfasts.
Good soul warming American comfort food in what I would loosely describe as a upscale Cracker Barrel celebrating Farming, but with way better food. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly, and made a few good menu recommendations as well. The dishes we ordered came out pretty quick, of which the pork combo and fried chicken were by far the best things we ordered (both her recommendations). The pork loin sandwich, bread basket and side fixin's were good too. Unfortunately the country fried steak disappointed, it didn't have a great tasting breaded crust and was too light on the sawmill gravy. But overall, the Shed is a good experience at pretty reasonable prices.
