Fun place and friendly staff. Good for kids and family. Food and cooks were off during our lunch visit. Salad was good but more than some lettuce was brown; sandwich had old rubbery Swiss cheese and slab of chicken or turkey, and Margherita pizza had little flavor, a few tiny pieces of old basil, and doughy crust. A waste of a wood-fired oven. Go for fun, not food.
Great atmosphere no matter the time. I would enjoy eating anything from the menu. Mini golf and foosball to enjoy while you're waiting or once the conversation has died down. Fun stuff
The WOW Customer experience I have been waiting for!!My fiancee and I don't go out to eat very often. Even before the pandemic we didn't go out much. I cooked as a Chef in kitchens for about 20 years and there was little I couldn't recreate at home for a fraction of the price. And the few times we have been out it was usually underwhelming both the service and the food.Tonight that all changed! First off, the atmosphere and decor are amazing! A little slice of California here in Iowa! There's games to play as well like a mini put put golf! I sat on a jet ski to eat! How fun! We sat down for a few drinks (she a strawberry margarita and I a Blue Moon) and grabbed some appetizers. The Mozzarella Sticks and Onion Rings were cooked to perfection! Breading was crispy, flavor was perfect and not greasy. Our server was T.O. and took amazing care of us! He was attentive and quick to answer when we needed something, but also gave us a good amount of privacy to enjoy our date.This all led to the pinnacle of our culinary journey tonight, their wood burning oven and neapolitan pizza's! I've been a long time fan of Chicken Alfredo Pizza and tonight I had the best pizza I've had in a long time, if not the best ever! The crust was light, fluffy, and kept a nice light crunch to the crust. The toasted cornmeal on the crust added a nice flavor and texture, with a slight hint of olive oil on the back end as your taste buds begged for more!If you've been looking for a new hang out spot, this is it! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and affordable prices! We will definitely be back soon! Great Job Tavern Blue!
Okay so it's not that bad, if you're bringing children along and would like to drink a fishbowl for two by yourself while your children run around and throw the sand around and you do nothing, then yes this place would be perfect for you. However, if you are going there with some friends thinking you can grab some drinks and some nice food and maybe play a round or two of mini golf while you drink, unfortunately this place would not be for you. The drinks were amazing and we would all come back for those, and the food wasn't bad, just nothing special, also the kitchen needs to follow the Gordon Ramsay "remember salt!!" The dishes would probably be better. The salsa for the chips and salsa also needs to be double the size it is now. The chip to salsa ratio was great on the chip end but again about half of what you needed for the chips. Service was actually pretty great the server was friendly and he was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us make some great choices. We will likely be back after a few months to see if anything has changed, but the kids running around with parents who don't care what their kids do will be this place for sure will have a massive down fall. Also, based on my engineering opinion as well as my friends (also an engineer). Have those boats supported the way they and the sand surrounding those supports with kids digging up all that sand and messing around those supports that look haphazardly constructed would be a disaster waiting to happen, if not a lawsuit. Owners may want to bring in an engineer and safety consultation on shoreing (yes a pun) those up
Nice place, big, lots of space. The food was less than par. The burger is pre-made frozen patty and fries I think were cooked and put back in fryer to be reheated. Drinks were good. For price and quality probably would not go back.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Tavern Blue!! I can’t stop sharing it with friends and family! I’ve brought 20 people so far and won’t stop! I even had my birthday party there! Easily the best Mac in town ❤️ If you ever can request Stephanie as your server! She rocks! Always on top of giving great service and making sure you’re having a great experience. I have never been let down with her or the restaurant!
Not a fantastic experience. They do not have darts, and the "table games" are not available to be taken to your table. and the mini gold is crowded with kiddos (I do love kids). This is definitely an atmosphere geared towards children. Not a date night place. Service was SLOW and the food was mediocre and pricey. But the drinks were nice and our server was so nice and pleasant. We will try to go back in about 6 months. Hopefully the parking and service will be better.
Stopped By here with a group of 5 adults & 2 kids and i have to say this one just made its way onto our "will be back many times" list. 4 of us got pizza's and let me tell you that wood fired pizza OMG is amazing. couldn't have asked for a friendlier staff our waitress was on top of it the whole time and the Manager even made her way over to talk to us and compliment the kids for helping make sure the other tables condiments were in the right place :P great atmosphere, great food, great people! 10 out of 10!
Excellent place to celebrate special events. Today was the graduation of my son, we invited few friends for lunch …… we received excellent service and fantastic food …. The special of the day was Fish and Shrimp Tacos ——— everyone should try them.
Pretty good sized bar and grill with some cute swings, mini golf, and some yard games you can play. My wife and I ordered some food. Their food overall is overpriced. Sides are $7.00 same price as most fine dining restaurants. I got the steak burger, with the fries and corn. Burger was decent and the fries and corn are pretty bland/normal. I did get a side of mac and cheese, it was decent. Nothing too exciting though. My wife did enjoy your brick fire pizza, so i would stick to pizza as they are decently priced compared to the rest of the menu. They do have a small drink menu and the service was decent.
