Worst pizza I have seen in my life. $16 for this burnt“ Ode to Detroit”. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves charging that for a child’s size pizza. Take Detroit’s name out of your mouths……….. (response to owners) you changed the description of the pizza after this incident. When i ordered it, it said nothing about a 6x6 on the website. The fact that you think its appropriate to charge $16 for such a little child’s size pizza is reason enough to never come back to this place. Got even more of a reason for the fact it was burnt. Just another pop up restaurant that will not be around long. You owe it to Detroit to take that off your menu
The staff that served us was amazing. Unfortunately, the food was not. Our chicken parmesan and pizza we ordered had sauce engorged with so much sugar it was remarkably inedible. We were told the pizza had honey on it which made it sweet but we should have been able to taste the honey and not just sugar. The pizza was also burnt and undercooked at the same time meaning they cooked it at too hot of a temperature. Our server didn't make us pay for what we didn't eat (so again 10 there) but we will not return.
Marquee pizzeria's was one of our favorite pizza place. Evrything's perfect: pizza, bread with balsamic glaze, hamburger with Gilroy's fries, salads ... yummy!!! But the what used to be a thick juicy hamburger is now 2 very thin ones just like you get @ fast foods! How disappointing! The price is too expensive for the fast food quality burger! If only they can go back to that perfect thick juicy burger, will give them a 5 star review. Just can't forget that disappointing and expensive fast food type burger so, it's 3 stars.
Interesting mix of causally dressed servers in an upscale dining environment with clearly gourmet, curated recipes.I got the spicy pizza, kiddo got cheeseburger and fries, and we split an order of brussels sprouts. IMO, the sprouts were amazing (kiddo was less impressed, but she's a kid), spicy pizza was perfectly balanced- not overly relying on heat, but still enough that I didn't need red pepper flakes. Kiddo didn't enjoy her cheeseburger, unfortunately. I tasted it and thought it was good, but perhaps an overreach for kids?? I'm not really sure, but she devoured her fries, so there's that. Our waiter was friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable.
We have dined in, eaten take out, and also had a large order for a work function that we had prepared through Marquee, and all of them were perfect with no complaints. The pizza was delicious; the crust wasn't too thin or too doughy they hit the right ratio of sauce/toppings/cheese to crust ratio that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stop in. I would also recommend their brunch, though a little more on the lunch side of it all, the breakfast pizza was delicious
Stayed at a hotel nearby and ordered food. Pizza and bread was extremely burnt on the bottom and couldn't taste any flavor because of it. The French fries were soggy as well. Definitely not trying again.
Food is delicious - the pizza is freshly made, I lived in Italy for 2 years and it is on par - best pizza in Iowa City. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant a place you just want to hang out at.
Very good Sin City pizza! The STRACCIATELLA isstretched mozz, garlic evoo, street dough. Also very very good.
This is one of my favorite places to eat pizza in Iowa City/Coralville area. I love spicy food so the Sweet Angelo was a great choice for me. Awesome food and amazing vibes. Be sure to get some hot honey on your pizza! Also shoutout to Meghan! She was super cool and nice. Can’t wait to come back again :)
A group of us ate here recently for an early-evening pizza supper. We enjoyed the Grandma's Hands, Sweet Angelo, and Margherita pizzas, all of which were very good. We all shared the Gilroy fries, which were great. The service was good but not great for a mostly empty restaurant. Several of us had wine by the glass; we found the pours to be small for the price, and at the end we were surprised at our bill (it was our fault, we should have kept tabs on it). So be careful, it can add up here if you buy wine. We would definitely return, but I think we might stick to water and maybe a beer, which is quite reasonable.
