This place was a new restaurant that had opened on the Coralville Strip since we lived there back in 2016, so when we visited old friends, they took us here for lunch. The decor of the place is very eclectic and it's very dark like an old medieval tavern. My husband ordered a grilled cheese and I had the pretzel bites. They both were quite tasty. We also all ordered a chocolate cube to share for dessert that was absolutely delightful!

This a a great place. Wonderful service and good food. Our service was fast and friendly. We had a great meal that was served fast. The prices were very fair. Had the chips and beer cheese. Brats. BBQ Chicken Bacon.

We tried Guild wurst for the first time and were extremely impressed with the food and service. Most everything is homemade, and the menu is large with everything from authentic brats to grilled cheese, sandwiches, burgers, and everything in between. Drinks were great and service was top notch. Fun environment and great, great food. Our only complaint is that it can get pricey. 4% service charge on credit card purchases. 2$ charge for any extra sauce. Extra sides are $5+ for small portions. We loved it and will come back, but not often due to prices.

Popped in with my adult daughter for dinner early on a Friday evening before going to the Riverside Theatre. The place was dark, dingy and virtually empty. No one was eating but some people were in just having drinks. We asked to sit in the only booth but were told no - that was for four or five people and they might get busy all of a sudden! We said we wouldn’t be there long but we’re still refused. Next we asked to sit at a table at the side but that too was refused. The female server finally choose where we could sit (a cold inhospitable table near the door) and before even sitting down asked what we would like to drink! We decided to leave. The welcome was frosty and confrontational, the surroundings dismal. Who knows about the food as we never got to sample it!

Not being a big wurst fan, I was a tad anxious about trying Guild, but others' reviews really made me curious. So glad we stopped there for lunch! Alexis was our delightful and knowledgeable server and helped us make good menu choices. So we ordered Two Sliced Wursts, one with pineapple, the other with sweet potato, with grilled onions and red peppers, and a fried egg, $12.00. Absolutely delicious, especially the sweet potato wurst. Then not realizing just how much food we would have, we ordered the Whiskey BBQ Pork sandwich on grilled rye, with handcut fries, $11.00. So good! Since Guild is Home to Boot 'n Flute Brewery, we had to try the Horse Thief Wheat beer, two 12 oz mugs for $7.54. Excellent beer!! Guild is wonderfully eclectic, and we will go back, soon I hope.

We thought we would give this restaurant a try for a chance to enjoy German food. We were disappointed. None of the 6 meals we collectively ordered were better than average at best. The Reuben sandwich was so tough we struggled to bite it. As we were with others in our party we refrained from complaining out of politeness. Next time we will plan to travel to Amana Colonies for good German fare.

I was skeptical of going to a place that primarily served sausage but I will definitely go back. Their beer was very good as was the Italian sausage sandwich and the brat with kind of a jerk sauce. Good service, good food, good beer - will be going again.
