My favorite lunch spot! I always stop when I visit my Grandma, and have never been disappointed. Their blarney stones are the best AND they have them year round- can't ask for much more than that!
Sweetheart has provided my kids birthday cakes since they were born so of course my daughter would get her wedding cake here. It was beautiful and tasted great as always. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the fee they wanted to charge to deliver it. We just picked it up ourselves and saved $150.00.

This is a cute little place to stop. Now, I only stopped for the bakery. The goodies we got (some cookies, donuts,and cinnamon rolls) were amazing and didn't last long in the house! The staff is also nice and attentive
the deli and bakery catered my new years day wedding. the food was delicious (as usual) and the cup cakes were out standing. I really want to give a big thank you to the lady who decorated our cake! it was so beautiful and perfect. the colors Were exactly right and the decorations were elegant. also thank you to Brenda for making sure we had enough food. you were 100% right about how many sammies and salads for the amount of people. you saved me from heart ache. Sweetheart Bakery made a marvelous birthday cake for my sister’s 80th birthday!! They went above & beyond in the decorations! We hated to cut it into pieces but we did and it was moist & very good!
We ordered our wedding cake and cupcakes from Sweetheart Bakery for our wedding. The cupcakes and the cake were gorgeous not to mention absolutely delicious.We ordered about 156 cupcakes and at the end of the night there were only a few handfuls left to take home with us because everyone thought they were delicious!We did a tasting and thought the chocolate, white, and raspberry flavors were amazing.The staff was also very nice and professional. They kept me updated about the process and delivery for the day of, every step of the way.

Sweetheart Bakery is one of the Historical Icons of Clinton Iowa. Being from Clinton , I can remember this place as far back as when I was a child around the late 1970's and 1980's way before it merged with Homer's Deli. After returning to Iowa because ofliving elsewhere for 31 years I got to stop by this place a few times, The people who work here are awesome and from what I could tell from what I had from here the sweets still haven't changed the way the cakes and cookies taste aren't like any other bakery where I have lived and the neapolitans? Are something all there own, the way they smell and taste. I load up and fatten up when I come here, you only live once. Homer's Deli pork sandwich with bbq sauce is good. Way back in the 1980's before Homer's relocated and merged with or bought? the bakery, IF I am remembering correctly Homer's had the Best Cheese soup and GREAT Hot dogs. ( IF I'm right) , I've wondered why they aren't on the menu anymore. Hope you guys have success as a business for a great many years and decades to come.
