Great food at reasonable prices. Some of the most authentic Mexican food around Cedar Rapids and I know real Mexican food as my wife is from Mexico and I lived in California for decades. Californias Mexican food is as close to authentic as you get without going over the border, Cedar Rapids doesn't have that yet but Taco Depot is very much on the right track. Very personable staff as well, Josh is always super friendly and makes you feel at home.

That food was fantastic! Taco Tuesday special, Tacos Ramirez for $1 and there were NO REGRETS! Also had Tacos Depot and they were on point.The place was slammed but they still got me in and out of there in a half hour and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back... maybe a weekly venture.I sat at the bar because it was so busy, so I didn't get a feel for the ambiance... but I enjoyed the food, the service and overall experience!
I had the worst experience at this restaurant tonight. They forgot over half of my pickup order. I didn’t realize until after I got home. I called to let them know what happened. They were apologetic and said we can come back and pick it up, and also offered a complimentary margarita. My parents left my house to get the food. Once they arrived they wanted to see the food we did get. ??♀️ We had already unpacked that food and it was sitting on my table. The employee then accused my parents of being liars and scammers, because there was no way they forgot that much food. They sat in the drive up for 10 minutes and no body would come back to help them. They ended up going inside, and no body would help them there. They said they couldn’t find the manager. They were about to leave when an employee came out and handed them the food and didn’t say anything. They asked about the margarita and the employee said, “we would never have said that.” I was also trying to call the restaurant this whole time, only to be hung up on multiple times. At one point they told me I needed to talk to the owner because they saw on camera that I was handed the food. I was given 2 bags… and I was missing 16 tacos! How am I supposed to know how much food they package in each container?! I work for a small, local business and always try to support other small businesses. This left such a horrible taste in my mouth. I have never been made to feel like this just for trying to get what I paid for. Shame on you Taco Depot…. ?
Their taco Tuesdays are gas. They have really good margaritas as well with unique flavors. The down side is that chips and salsa is not included with a seat. Other than that their hibiscus drink is amazing. The burrito is very filling as well.
Tacos are good. Service is bad. We arrived and sat down. All three servers passed us, didn’t look at us or greet us. They could’ve at least said Hi, give me one minute but nothing. We were ignored for about 10 minutes. And then finally got our drinks. We ordered tacos with cilantro and onions on the side and they put the onions and cilantro on it. Then we finally got the right order. One taco in and our server is like can i give you the check? While still eating she’s like ok are you ready to pay? Basically rushing out the door. Didn’t thank us, didn’t say have a good day, overall unpleasant.I am a server and have been for years and can give someone slack because I know what it’s like but the whole experience was awful.
They couldn't understand us by phone (speaking English to an English speaker)...after driving twenty minute we got there before we could even place our order. My daughter went in and it was another twenty minutes in line and then the wait. We ordered twenty tacos and three drinks...got nineteen tacos and the drinks. The tacos were a mix and not exactly what we had ordered. The construction crew was hungry, they ate it. But for nearly fifty dollars and the time. We should have gotten what we asked for... Next time we will probably go some where else.

The food was decent, not the worse I’ve ever had. However, the service was the worst I’ve ever had, that takes a lot for me to say. It started out fine but waters and menus took awhile for us to get. They had some big groups but, our server wasn’t taking care of any of those tables. We finally ordered after a long wait and ended up sitting there for about 20 minutes. Our server came back and said, “What did you guys order again? They lost it in the back.” So we were pretty frustrated. We finished eating and 10 mins later the server finally asked if we were ready for our checks. He went and got them and we gave him our cards. On top of this our ticket was wrong. He charged me for queso instead of chips in salsa which was a $1.30 difference but he told me, “oh yah it’s same the price. “ (it was not). We waited around 5 mins and saw a guy walk by and point at the ground in confusion. We looked over and it was my debit card, which I had given to our server, laying on the ground. We picked it up waited 5 more mins for him to come tell me they lost it. However, they never came to let us know it had been lost. I walked up to the bar and waited for him to see me, and maybe explain that he had lost my card. At that point he was getting ready to serve other tables. His priority should’ve been finding my card he had lost. I talked to him told him I shouldn’t even be paying for this right now and all he could say was we all make mistakes which yes is true but that’s a lot of mistakes within 1 hour.
I normally don't have an issue with this place. Tacos are great, always delicious. Very rarely do I have bad meat with any order(cold, dry, etc).However tonight was very disappointed with the Chicken Taco salad my mother ordered.$8 for this salad? It's not even filled. Could barely see any chicken.
