One star off for service. Maybe I’m just more accustomed to some southern hospitality. The waitress walked off before I could tell her I wanted my burger medium rare but she heard me when I called after her. But the food was great! I could smell the bacon the second my plate arrived. I didn’t need to put a single condiment on it because it was so juicy. Fries were hot and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I’ll definitely come back on another layover.
Not as bad as it could be, but keep in mind that it is airport food. The chicken tenders are more like oversized chicken nuggets and cost significantly more than they were worth.
My experience with the customer service staff has been nothing but exceptional! Highly recommend!
So, Cedar Rapids airport is my home airport. The High Porch Restaurant is SOOO AWEFUL. The food sucks. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and what came out was pre-processed, cut up pressed chicken, that was clearly warmed up in a microwave. The daily soup is always the same….nasty salty beer cheese. Be careful, if you upgrade from chips to tasteless fries, they will charge you $3.00 for the upgrade. Do yourself a HUGE favor, stop by one of the restaurants two miles from the airport, and get food to go.
If you like McDonald’s chicken nuggets you’ll love their chicken tenders. Filling inside them exact same as McDonald’s. Not normal. Kind of sad they can’t afford or have the decency to serve good chicken tenders at an airport. Never again.
Arrived at the airport an extra hour early for our flight. The airline won’t check our bags until ‘exactly’ 2 hours prior to the flight. The store and small snack/restaurant pre-security are all closed. Not even a vending machine to purchase a bottle of water. :(
I thought this place was great!!! Very fast service, respectful of plane timing. Truly delish Bloody Mary and 5 stars for the fried cheese curds. I really loved our service!!
