I met some business contacts at the Red Lion. We had a great thin crust pizza and a couple drinks that sure hit the spot. It was a nice quiet place and friendly staff as well.
Happened upon this little gem by chance and now have a new friend to visit now and then. Standing at the end of an odd little strip mall and next to a barber shop is the Red Lion Pub. Looking at the exterior you can tell it's been here awhile. It has that European facade but the big black metal entry doors gives it a state hospital or prison kinda of vibe. Inside a deep red glow with dark wood accents greet you. It's a glow that might mess with you if you decide to hang out awhile. It was a sparse Sunday afternoon crowd with NASCAR, golf and Hawkeye women basketball on. Around a dozen or so small tables with chairs that made you want to stay seated occupied 3/4 of the place while a horseshoe bar took up the rest. If you like yourself some karaoke this place has been doing it for years on Friday and Saturday nights. I can only imagine the feel of the place with a variety of folks wandering in from this eclectic neighborhood to wow the crowd with their favorite songs. The place was clean, the service was prompt and friendly and the current cast of characters added some spice with some of the best conversations I've overheard in a long time. I'll venture back as I feel like those karaoke nights might be alright!

Nice place and good people
The service and music was very good, with singers that really could sing. The atmosphere was very friendly and festive. The dance floor was packed many times with happy dancers. Everyone was singing and enjoying themselves. There were red lights everywhere and two twin identical Santa Clauses.. it's the best place in Cedar Rapids to enjoy karaoke. ❤❤??????????????
Amazing place to sing and be merry
Karoke night was quite the experience! Swingin and singin. Funny hosts and loved the Christmas decor and ambiance. Karoke was more of an open mic though lol. Everyone was a seasoned singer!
A step back in time yet...up to date. Great service even on the busiest night. Karaoke songs are usually older numbers which is great. If you like yacht rock & singing it too this is for sure your jam.
